Game has frozen twice after equipping cloak of the ghost (black cloak)

I don't know why but after I equipped the cloak the game froze and stops responding in any way and this has happened to me twice on two different characters. It only states "You finish equipping the black cloak" and stops responding.

EDIT: Despite being quite similar cloak of the spectre doesn't seem to have this issue.
