Buff +[Stat] Talents
Most +[Stat] talents are useless as-is. Increase the modifier and apply it to the potential maximum, as well.

Most of the +[Stat] skills (despite new changes to how stat increases work) are largely useless. There are much, much better uses for your starting talents in almost all cases. The +modifiers should be adjusted--though not equally--and should also increase your potential maximum (this is key!).

For some stats (St, To, Le, Dx, Wi, perhaps Ma come to mind), a +2-3 (even +4 for certain stats) would make them actually useful (Strong of Will is currently needed for Melee Weapon Master, but it's not /that/ commonly taken). Alert is most likely fine as it is commonly chosen for access to TH or Missile Weapon Master. Good Looks and Charming could use some larger modifiers, perhaps even as large as +5+10 or even +20 (though I still can't see why people would take them, excepting Charming for Heir). Perhaps a +3 for every stat - for consistency - is a viable option.

Another option is to have them as part of a talent tree, where you still have to take, say, Tough at level 1, but it unlocks more +To talents that aren't restricted to level 1. I personally dislike this option, but I can see why it might be better.

I like it. +20 is tremendously excessive for a level one talent, however, even if given to Ch or Ap. +5 or +6 would be a good "large" bonus, I think.

+20 is far too much. True, those attributes aren't that useful, but having 45 Ap makes those potions of exchange suddenly look very good.

Revised slightly in line with comments. I still think it's a good idea to bump these slightly. Another thing bouncing around in my head is +1-2 and +2 Potential for each stat. That would certainly make me take some of them, with how hard stat potentials are to budge now.

I agree that they aren't worth bothering with at +1.

I like +2 and +2 potential; it's good to have consistancy, but +3 for ST, TO, LE is too good IMO.

+3 would be okay. They are level 1 talents, after all.

Yeah, chances are you're only getting one - two at best - since they are only level 1 talents. For TH obsessives - even less of a shot.

+3 is fairly significant for early game stats, IMHO. If Tough gave +3 To, I'd probably take it almost every game. For casters, +3 Le could also be pretty big.

I would vote for +2 and +2 potential (i.e., your potential is guaranteel to be at least 2 pts higher than your starting value).

And isn't that the idea behind this RFE? :)

How about +2 for the stat, +3 for the potential?

You missed the "almost every game" part. It would probably be the best talent in the game.

+3 sounds OP to me too.

As these talents are frequently selected by the predefined talent setting, it would be nice if they were better. The game shouldn't be teaching new players to pick bad talents.

Looks like this was implemented in Issue 6009 and can be closed.
