Cancelling a spell cast takes a turn.

This is related to issue 1291, but instead of the book cast, it is about the regular cast (Z).
As far as I know pressing 'Z' is the only way to investigate your spells (apart from remembering them), so it seems a bit unfair that the monsters are already hitting you when you decide that spell casting currently is not your best option.
And it certainly is not consistent with many other areas in the game where cancelling an action does *not* take a turn.

Can't reproduce this. Hitting Z to open spell list and z again to close it did not take a turn in 1.1.1/p10/p11 (32 bit ubuntu).
Cancelling a spell after casting it (only an option in targetable spells) takes a turn, but at that point you've already chosen to cast it (and also lost pp for doing so).

Indeed, I cannot reproduce it anymore either. Please forget this until I can provide more details or find out that the report indeed was erroneous.

The only thing I can reproduce: if you cancel a spell while choosing a direction it takes a turn.
Although this is not entirely consistent with e.g. the target command, which does not take a turn in the same situation this behaviour is fine: a spell is not a bow.
I apologize for incorrectly reporting.
