Moving the minimap makes NotEye crash.
After you save the game and reload it.

How to reproduce: in the tile mode, move the minimap; open the NotEye menu and save the changes; save the game *and* quit ADOM; open ADOM and reload the game; at this point NotEye crashes (I attached a screenshot).
I have reproduced this on Mountain Lion and on Win XP; I don't have pre17 on Linux at the moment to test it there, but I would be surprised if this were not an OS-independent issue.

Temporary workaround if you happened to move the minimap: open the file config-adom.noe and remove the pickminipos(...) line, then in the NotEye crash menu you can reload the scripts; you will get the starting ADOM image without the menu displayed, but the usual keys work, so just press 'r' to reload the game and the rest will work smoothly.

A similar error still happens in pre18: change the position of the minimap, then change its size, NotEye will crash; the culprit now is the script viewmodes.noe at line 219.
