'L'ook mode jumping to nearest monster - intentional?
The new behaviour of the 'l'ook cursor makes the game much harder to play for blind people

While new features are always welcome, I'm a bit dismayed at the way the 'l'ook cursor behaves now. Before p21, when invoking the 'l'ook command, the cursor started on the character, now it jumps to a monster nearby. This change in behaviour makes it extremely difficult to use the 'L'ook command for navigation, since it removes any point of relation. As a blind player, I have no idea where the monster in question is sitting in relation to my character, so the only way of getting my bearings is to sweep the whole screen and hope to find my character again.

I'm aware that Thomas mentioned he isn't quite happy how things work right now concerning the 'l'ook command and I'm with him on this one. It would be nice to keep the +/- targeting, for a quick look around when monsters are nearby, but it would also be very welcome if the 'l'ook cursor appears on the character when invoked, like it used to do.

Whoops, my bad for not checking if that was mentioned earlier. But it IS confusing the hell outta me :)

So, if I read the other post correctly, I can turn off the behaviour by setting Auto_Lock_Nearest to false? Makes archery a bit more cumbersome, but should do as a workaround.
