See the attached screenshot. The cursor blinks on more than one line and additionally the cursor in all lines except for the last one will not disappear (except when the line scrolls away).

Wouldn't it be a simple solution to just create cursor animations in the very last message line? I can't think of any use case where we need them elsewhere...
