In Story mode, you can encounter Player Ghost of yourself

We are now playing in Story mode, and I ended up dying once - after reloading, shortly afterwards I encountered myself as a player ghost. That's really weird and out of place (even though a bit funny), even though we like the idea of player ghosts in general (friendly ones, too!).

It shouldn't be difficult to add a check that prevents generating player ghosts which are reincarnations of you. You may also want to add a check that considers only a single hiscore entry per story mode character. Or just don't generate ghosts from story mode runs.

I find this absolutely hilarious. The price you pay for immortality...

I'm itching to add an RFE to introduce this behavior for level 50 necros. You spawn a ghost - it can be killed to restore lost To and HP, you don't spawn a ghost - no need for a difficult fight.

Ghosts now only will be created during standard (unmodified) roguelike mode (as I originally intended).
