First, a right-click could recenter the map. This way you can view your entire world map without zooming out and trying to squint, or anything like that.

Second, a right-click could give you a list of everything that's in a square. For the overland map, the names of dungeons you've entered (and possibly the lowest depth you've been in that dungeon?), the shops you've found in towns, and so forth. For the tactical map, the contents of piles could possibly appear until you hit z?
