Normally, if you aren't standing on an altar and attempt to sacrifice something, the message "You need to find an altar to make a proper sacrifice." is displayed. If you don't have anything in your backpack, you instead get the message "You probably could sacrifice yourself." This makes sense when the character is standing on an altar and has this option, but the normal message is more appropriate when the character isn't on an altar.
