Perhaps you will argue that right-clicking to issue orders to companions does work because the list of orders appears. However, when an option is selected, the player receives the message: "That doesn't seem to work."
Although the player can simply use the keybindings to work around this mouse UI problem, it may discourage a new player from returning to the game.
