Are you including development posts? Because I'm fairly sure they don't count. Somewhat irrelevant anyway - I'd honestly prefer it if forums never bothered mentioning post counts.

Hmm never considered whether post counts are 'good' or 'bad'. People don't usually keep precise tabs of how often everyone attends, say, a sports club. But in the digital world it's so easy. And it gives some perspective. But it is slightly Brave New World like.
