PC crashed - now cannot load my save file! Game directs here

So I entered the Ice Palace and then my PC crashes due to power outage. I reboot but when I try to load the game it says:
Error: Couldn't load the game! [LA]
It makes no sense that there's something wrong with the save file. I even tried the backup save files, but it keeps giving the same message.
I even re-installed the game and still the same problem.
Funny thing is that ALL saves of my other characters load fine. There's a problem only with this character specifically, the one I was playing
when the crash occurred.
Can this problem be fixed?
