[Suggestion]Combine Single Repeated Actions

This has sort of been rolling around in my head in a couple of the [Balance] threads, and I thought I'd put this here since it doesn't really fit in any of them. Basically, I think that there are a lot of things ingame that are kind of annoying to do because you can only do it slowly, one at a time, when there should really be a way to do multiple actions of the same type at once. In particular:

Smithing:
-Make it so that the character can refine multiple pieces of ore into ingots all in one step. Instead of having to do one piece after another, let the character select 10 iron ores, 6 mithril ores, 2 adamantium ores and 1 eternium ore, wait the total number of necessary turns, and spit out as many successful ingot retrievals as he ended up with.
-Allow the character to smith multiple ingots in a single item sequentially instead of one-at-a-time.
-I'd suggest doing something similar with mining as well, but I don't have a really good idea for that. Maybe an option to mine a given number of squares in whatever direction (or until the pickaxe breaks or a monster appears).

Herbs:
-If a herb bush is not withered, the PC will pick all herbs on the bunch until it is withered in one shot, then the bush dies on the next. This could take multiple turns or have a higher energy cost as appropriate. I'd recommend the latter choice as this would also fixes a problem that it is currently much easier to build a herb farm with low herbalism skill, since you can pick through bushes much quicker, which is a little counter-intuitive.
-Have w5 commands cancel if the PC notices a new herb generation being grown.

Casino:
-Let the player play a casino game multiple times with a single keystroke (eg. "$24 to play, how many games do you want to play?")

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's others worth mentioning. I'll add more as I think of them.

Read a spellbook unto completion.
Zap an empty wand till it fires.

They're fairly minor though, and would require extra interface messiness for little gain.

For herbs the easy solution is to have the "pick up all" command ( ; in game) prompt for "Really pick this herb bush clean? (y/N)"

Allow crystals of light, darkness and power to be put into the tool slot, and allow more than one crystal there. Make the 'u'se command use one of them at a time. In other words, just like herbs - saves you from having to 'U'se crystals every time.

Let Weaponsmiths remove rust from a whole stack of missiles, instead of one at a time.

How about just adding the "w" keystroke to more actions? wr = continued reading, wz = continued zapping, wZ = continued casting, wu = continued 'u'se, wU = continued 'U'se. In each of these cases, it could simply add an additional prompt saying "Do you wish to continue <reading/zapping/casting/using>? Y/N". (EDIT: This also means that, for instance, if you want to continue zapping a wand with multiple charges or casting a spell, such as when using a wand of fire, you don't need to keep doing it manually).

For picking herbs, it could use the semicolon, and could automatically pick until the status of the herb changes... if you haven't identified the herbs on that bush (using herbalism), that means picking completely, while if you have identified them, it will pick until the herb drops one stage in state (such as Strong -> Withered). If the bush hasn't been picked completely, it could then prompt you with something like "Continue picking this bush? Y/N", and that way the maximum number of keystrokes to completely pick a bush will be no more than 4, with the exception of generations occurring mid-pick.

Sacrificing items would be another that would be nice to operate in this fashion.

"Select all items to sacrifice"? I think someone suggested that one a while ago, and I would agree with it.

I would also like to be able to filter items by categories when using Ctrl+D.

I think the w5 wrt to herbs blossoming should be implemented and definately the gambling one now that we probably won't be gambling all our gold anymore.
