Can't launch 0.2.5 or 0.2.4 in Windows
"Unable to launch the application"

Something odd was happening with the EULA splash screen (was appearing for 0.2.4 but not for 0.2.5), but I cannot reproduce this.

Anyway, when I launch either version of adom-ii.jnlp I get the error:
"Unable to launch the application".

Minor secondary annoyance:
windows doesn't seem able to recognize your digital signature in the file, the publisher is listed as "UNKNOWN". Not sure how to fix that, but if you can set that meta data to some other value Windows will kvetch less. I don't think that's the issue here though.

I can confirm this more or less. The upgrade from 0.2.3 to 0.2.5 worked fine on Windows 7, so I could start the game and create a character.

But now whenever I try to restart the game, I get the following exception:

Code:
com.sun.deploy.net.FailedDownloadException: Ressource konnte nicht geladen werden: (http://www.adom.de/adom-ii/downloads/javawebstart/adom-ii.jar?version-id=0.2.3&current-version-id=0.2.5, 0.2.3)

I'm checking if a clean install helps.

Oops! No, that's not the problem at all.

The issue is resolved if I save the .jnlp file and open it locally. So the issue seems to be with how java deals with .jnlp files in temporary directories, or something? Not sure. But 0.2.5 works.

Well, a clean install helps. I can start the game successfully now from either the .jnlp or the ADOM II icon. I don't know... the Webstart upgrade mechanism never worked that good on Windows anyway. Time to switch. :)

Yeah, I don't intend to invest more time in webstart. As soon as 0.2.6 is out (pretty soon - I just want to get the important bugs out) I will probably switch to a standard installer.
