Windows version as a console app

I think that ADOM for Windows should be a console application, as is the case with other platforms.

The advantages would be:

  • Changing fonts
  • Playing a game with different terminal (and dungeon) size
  • Copying and pasting text
  • Recording the game using DOS Recorder

So far, ADOM Sage was a good solution that allowed me to do all of the above, but it's not compatible with the new binaries.

I agree that the current ADOM for Windows is not very useful.

However, after the NotEye integration, we will be able to use NotEye's ASCII renderer. That will make ADOM look just like in DOS, or to change fonts. It will be also possible to use NotEye's console output feature, which fixes your last two issues.

As a temporary fix for some of those issues you might try using DOSBox and running the DOS version. I switched to doing that when I got tired of the windows version default font.

It's now possible to select font name and size (see 1226), but also see this bug.

This is probably the one feature I'd like to have in the Windows version.
