Mandrills!
No, not the animal--the tool!

Hereby requesting that mandrills be put into JADE.

For those who don't know, a mandrill (besides being an animal) is a one-handed pick that is smaller than a pickaxe. It is used primarily in enclosed spaces, where there wouldn't be room for swinging a pickaxe.

Game-wise, a mandrill should probably do about as much damage as a pickaxe does now (maybe 1d5+2 piercing, for a medium-sized one?), and be one-half to one-forth as effective as a pickaxe for mining purposes (again modified by the size).

Perhaps a mandrill, since mining with it would involve hitting with less power, could have a slightly higher chance of producing gems, etc, than pickaxes, as compensation for their lower effectiveness. It makes some sense, since the slower process would give the PC more opportunity to avoid hitting and destroying the gems as the PC digs.

... I kinda feel like people would be even more confused about what a mandrill is than what a scugari is... I'de suggest rock pick or something like that... there small picks with a slightly more common household name

Perhaps what I'm suggesting could simply be called a 'pick,' then? As opposed to a 'pickaxe?'
