as per title
When sherif says Kranach run away, PC gets free 500xp for completing quest. Given that other rewards are refuted this does not seem to be logical.

This is not correct. You receive no reward if Kranach has fled the country. I just tried it and just got normal text from the sheriff.

I changed version midquest, but overall my bad.

It may be a bug regarding quest XP introduction to savegames from earlier updates? If so however it shouldn't affect the game going forward from this point..
