When you manually try to use the "detect item status" ability, if all items have already been tried, it tells you to try again when you either gain a level or you pick up any new items. However, it gives the same message when you try after picking up any new items. I think it's because you automatically try to detect the status of any items you pick up, so the message should say "try again when you gain a new level".
