I find it much easier to tell what things are in normal mode verses the tiles. For an example look at any giant, odds are you wouldn't be able to recognize them without the look command.

What are you trying to improve?
ore comes from digging walls with a pick axe, ore is smelted into ingots
Dark forge is normally a let down...
scrolls of repair will fix broken items, blessed pick...

It died to 8 frost bolts, it never landed a hit of any kind.

Um, did they nerf ACW in a recent version?

I know but the stairs were in opposite corners on every floor, I'm a drakeling with only 3 forms of resistance, that is alot of pain.

I know I'm being over cautious but the ACW is responsible for about half of my character deaths and I've only beat it like 5-6 times in the last 10 years.

I did my scouting run, stairs are as far as can be and I discovered I'd lost teleport control while pool drinking. Looks like I've got to find some blink dogs again.

Then I'll only have 3 forms of resistance: RoHK, elemental gauntlets, and a ring. Is this enough?

I tend to run my wizards as book casters. I find it really helps in the early game as a single book cast bolt spell will clear most halls and I cast from memory only if I'll need to cast several...

Maybe there is another way to fix this: where do most of those single arrows come from? I've found they tend to be shot at me, perhaps it'd be enough to just have monsters shoot only normal missiles?

This comes down to "if you have the right stuff it's easy, if not it's a pain", isn't this the case for most side quests?

I've only ever had one in HMV, at least you were able to deal with them.

ah, the 5.25" floppy drive, I've still got one in my win 7 desktop for vintage games.

I see no reason the maze would need to change again and the rewards are not enough to make it required. It's only the power gamers attempting to min-max that would think of it as a required stop.

This seems like the kind of thing there should be a config option for.

I thought the change was to make them totally immune to being charmed.
