    I like to play them too . . .

Yep, they're pretty awesome . . . my first (and probably only) win was with a Troll that specialized in 'Unarmed combat' (this was in V0.2.0--'Warrior monks' weren't even implemented yet!).

    This sounds like a bug . . .

Just to make sure that I'm understanding this correctly:

The 'Learning' score of your PC is not dangerously low (5-), and for no apparent reason, it instantly falls to zero/into the negatives and...

    No Intangibility?

    Really? Damn.

A special command was not required to access the ability in V0.2.0; you just needed to have the item equipped.

I guess that that feature was either removed from that particular...

    Congratulations!

Besides the obvious, it should also allow your PC to walk through walls . . . which means that the character is now immortal, if you play it right.

EDIT: Assuming that monsters react the same way...

It's not as bad as all that . . .

I don't think it's as bad as you guys are making it out to be--it was worse in V0.2.0, where items on the ground weren't generated in any size other than medium (and I managed a win with a Troll...

Undead getting three or four attacks per turn . . .

I've actually noticed such a thing occuring with undead other than wights--I've also seen it with skeletons, for example.

I probably should do some testing to see if this is a bug or if it's just...

    One possible idea . . .

I can't say that I've noticed any kind of obvious effect myself--I suppose that it's possible that it provides some kind of 'behind-the-scenes' bonus, though.

For example, it might lower the...

    Awesome!

I'll see what I can contribute after I do something about this giant backlog of bugs I've been meaning to report.

I'm just hoping that working with wikis is as easy as I've heard--I don't want to...

Skill costs for Humans and on skill costs in general . . .

Hopefully this is useful, and actually makes sense. If it is/does, feel free to stick it in one of your many reserved posts so that it's closer to the beginning of the topic.

    Keep in mind, though,...

    You know . . .

. . . when I first saw the title for this topic, I thought this was going to be a I'm-leaving-the-community-thanks-for-all-the-good-times kind of topic, for some strange reason.

    I am relieved to...

Race/Class Skill Affinities, and some suggestions.

Something I noticed from playing so many games: different races/classes have different skill costs. For instance, it only costs 4 SP at first to raise the 'Dodge' and 'Find weakness' skills for Dark...

    There's a bug report for this . . .

There's actually a bug report for this--might I suggest you go here and say you can reproduce it?

    Down in the dungeons . . .

I'm sure all of us have seen our fair share of oddities down in the dungeons, so I'm hoping that someone can shed a little light on this: a couple of times while I was dungeoncrawling, there's been a...

    Training Attributes . . .

Actually, I think it is currently possible to train attributes somehow--I'm thinking from the temporary boosting potions. I know I've gotten at least one random gain in one of the last couple of...

    Wilderness Encounters

From what I've seen so far, the wilderness encounter rate could stand to be turned down some. Haven't played enough to get a handle on the average difficulty of one, though.

    You're also right...

    The Tinkers' Guild

I 'eard that the way by which Tinkers make their nails is a closely guarded secret, and that they even have a special way to make blocks 'o mud--like combinin' a bit 'o dirt and water isn't good...

    Nograin...

You know how wood has grain, right? I kinda assumed that it was referring to a ring made out of grain-less wood, implausible though such a thing may be.

Then again, I don't know offhand what...

    Aye, 'tis no mere rumour...

    You're already at it.

Here's the answers to your questions (if you still want/need them); sorry it took so long for you to get a reply.

Dungeons, in general, are indeed implemented. However certain dungeons (namely the...

    I prefer (Nintendo) Hard.

I prefer the current setup for the same reason as nateskeez. What happened to the days where beating a game was an accomplishment?

Besides, roguelikes aren't meant to be terribly fair.

    Stat Loss

I have noticed some occasional minor stat loss...nothing like what electric_wizard was desribing, though. Most recently, it was a point of Dx and Ap each.

If I remember correctly, right before...
  22. ...whaddaya mean "not implemented!?!"

It's listed as having been implemented for version 0.1.3--but it's not in the current list of usable skills.

    Something's not right.

I've run into the latter issue myself.

I think the both of them are bugs. You should report them.

    Negative stats?

Wait, are you saying that his stats went into the negatives? Or am I misunderstanding and the necklace only gave penalties of {Ch-1, Ap-4}?

    Destroy

I agree with Cass--destroy seems like it would work the best. Can't think of any kind of undead for which it wouldn't sound right.
