Use the "l"ook command - you get information on DV, PV , HP and weaponry your opponent carries around.
Use a warrior monk / nun level 3 and disarm those 2-handers /...

This nasty corruption causes NPC to attack you, and shopkeepers to hate you because you scare away all potential customers.

dual wielding - still looking for the adequate...

Only way I see: try looking for one in version 1.3, there you could put on the "large" stuff and wield large great clubs and the like.

You could also get the RoHK / undead slaying, frost bolt and invisibility to get down there.
