There has been a co-op for a couple of days now. To use it, you log in to the same SSH account and choose the co-op menu option.
This is actually covered in sever readme, http://ancardia.ath.cx in [Session recording and playback] section.
Fixed now.
Have you applied the PuTTY settings described in http://ancardia.ath.cx/ ?
There will be a command to back up the game arbitrarily.
The server now transparently makes automatic backups every 1000 turns to protect against crashing. An .svg will be generated and can be restored if ADOM crashes. If you look carefully in the message...
Thought about sharing this in case someone is interested: http://ancardia.ath.cx/~jvsalo/adom-sage-jaakkos.tar.gz
See ADOM Sage build/install instructions :) You may need to install some lib-devs...
Sure: http://ancardia.ath.cx/~jvsalo/adom-sage-jaakkos/. It is actually a Sage patch (see roller.c) and runs in Linux. The roller screen ATM looks like this:
Your character was rolled by ADOM as...
Are you referring to the questionable nature of such a roller? :)
Wow. I just realized updating the .so probably crashes all ongoing games... sorry :(
There is now an autoroller when you play 1.1.1 :) Try it out and tell me what you think and if it bugs for you?
Edit: fixed some bugs
The 'spectator' account no longer requires a password.
meh: Done. See private messages.
If anyone is interested, ancardia.ath.cx (with all bells and whistles, like the ADOM server) is now back up.
I don't want to start a race with the new ADOM server, though.
I'll definitely fix it when I get back home in the beginning of September! Right now I'm working in Geneva.
Oh well... obviously things still suck. I obtained some more equipment, trying to find time to debug what's actually going on.
I finally obtained a graphics card so I could plug a display and actually try doing something except just SSHing to the running server.
I ran live Ubuntu and did fsck for the reiserfs file system...
Ok, you stoned fellas...
Ancardia is down indeed, and I guess it's due to a) broken fusecompress-filesystem that crashes even the kernel b) broken memory c) broken mobo d) broken hard drive. It...
Also if you're playing on a Mac, check out Thomas's suggestion for terminal settings: http://www.adom.de/adom/download.php3 (of course, then use 'ssh ...' instead of './adom')
Goddamnit... just ran 'sudo reboot' on ancardia, accidentally :( Was supposed to do that to my desktop computer but I typed into the wrong terminal.
Well then gentlemen, I guess it's time to get planning the save games!
I guess it's wise to use this thread for doing it. I would then periodically update the initial post to include accepted...
Yeah this actually came up on IRC too. We'll do something about it.
Also, what would be a sane limit to what might change between svgs? Would you like to see added monsters, modified ACW or other...
Edit: Planning now started. Ideas will be edited into this post. Please see my post on details: http://www.adom.de/forums/showpost.php?p=43899&postcount=21.
Hi there folks!
I just had this...
jaakkos does not approve of such restrictions.
Find out if 443/https is reachable from that restricted network. If it is, I will make ancardia's sshd listen on that port, too.
Hope this helps :)
