this forum doesn't allow thread title editing, even for mods, which I am (kinda)
PS most humerous example of this is the thread entitled 'time shitters avenue'

> Haha well it's a guy's opinion. We're all entitled to one.
I changed my mind about this years ago when a code diver (i think twinge) gave me some
accurate numbers on it. I now forget what they...
I has found treasure hunter to suck.
I has found treasure hunter lovers to suck.
I has nothing more to say.
> So it gives 10% increase
To my knowledge, it never gives a 10% increase to anything.
I think the code divers quantified it to a 12.5% increased chance
of item drops for certain mobs, but there...
Yeah, took me a long time to think of:
Look at your kill list, devide by 10. That's how many of your items came from TH.
> I'm mot gpomg to read through the 500 post
Which proves you use your time more wisely than
those of us who did : )
> this is the first time I see this after starting to read these forums....
Noooooooo!
Not this again. Die die die, you stupid thread, just die!
You wrote that? Good job!
> It will live as long as TH keeps sucking
Excellent!
> it;s not being brainwashed if you look at both sides
...was joking...
> I have stumbled into the wiki page for the TH debate
But it also grants the 'brainwashed' intrinsic, that inhibits learning
and makes the PC more vulnerable to confusion.
Nooooo!
Die Die Die!
Why Can't This Thread Die?!
> Human eyes are capable of discerning maybe two to three million colors
I never thought it was nearly that high... but it's true,
I can see the letters just fine on my screen. I have to
look...
>i know some elementals and moloch attacks can go over 400 in certain cases
Didn't you lose one of your challenge PC's to a greater moloch
in the SMC that did over 1,000 in a hit?
> Yep, I said it. It just plain sucks. It wastes one talent, just like that.
I haven't read the whole thing yet, but I laughed
my head off : )
I also happen to agree.
> And if I want to run...
> more fun to make 3 characters than it is to spend 10 minutes scumming.
I said (I think) from the start:
TH isn't for those who:
1. Don't feel they need hordes of items.
2. Don't mind...
> If you go below 30% HP you're doing something wrong,
If by 'wrong' you mean doing something other than
scumming VD 1 until I'm exp. level 10, then yes, I
do wrong stuff all the time. Going to...
> anyone who thinks these talents will save them from player
> mistakes and overconfidence is seriously wrong
I'll be sure to remember that next time my HP's drop
to ~4.
> generates more items (searches faster, kills more)
> than a TH char in the same number of turns, and
> probably RL time
Excellent point! While I was doing the test, I kept
saying to myself...
> So in your example you should generate approx. 215 random items
I rolled a non-TH troll barbarian, did healer quest (not Hotz
way), puppy quest, and visited DT. I didn't pick up things
like...
>>> guaranteed shop is restocked twice
>> Again, another wrong suppositions.
> How can something like this be declared just flat 'wrong'?
A normal PC won't get 2 restocks from either Waldy...
> That way you should deny any data of mine as statistical unreliable
I could declare any non-game-engine based
theories as potentially flawed, but in many
cases, that's the best that is...
> You surely have evidence for that idea
I clearly stated it as a theory, even saying I had no
code dived data. It wasn't cited for its own sake,
but to represent one of the many possible...
> play with item drop weights to figure that percentage
snip a bit
>All numbers are actually known
A wise, yet evil man (no, not Grey) once said "A mentat
is only as good as his data." Or...
> 42% boost to the normal chance of finding one still isn't much.
I didn't say it was much. I said I disagreed.
> interested in how Twinge came up with his figures.
He explains it nicely...
> Finding SLB, with no scumming: TH is a 42% boost.
I disagree.
