    hardcore early faze especialy smc almost lose him there while souronded by exped monsters early found \ofpois saved him n times ud was quite desolate no shops herbs, forges mostly and few pools big rum harvested for 1pre hammer. coc was realy interestin 2 great vaults of giants both, first one was level below at, second few levels down, zapped wodm wich said you sence pressence of 270 monsters! orc (b)eat them all and got himself few artifacts btw. temples meelled thanks to df wich gave nice sword of sharpness and bdsm and 3wishes from pools (aols, anvil, socrs), donne lot of minin smitin for thousands of turns. got bow on d49, very lucky guy, and then melleed d50, balors too chaos wzrds was real pain in the ... summoned hundreds down there, but merchant beat the shit out of them.

    Nice win, I gotta ask though, you really wished for an anvil? There are two guaranteed anvils in the game, and I can't help but notice that none of your worn equipment in the end is even smithable, what with your awesome collection of artifacts. When did you do your smithing?

    yes i did actualy, had a artifact pick axe and the forge in dt, and lots of stuff ready for smitin, couldnt wait for it to pop up somwhere, and don't wanna take the risk to fight dwarf for one, so i boosted s/o/sharpness to its limits (excelant end game weapon (+11, 4d5+7) and it was eventualy annihilated by the eye of destruction, agrh!), crafted few shields, and that bdsm just wouldn't improve more no matter how stubborn merchant actualy was.. all characters i start get all equipment for smittin in late game when there is no any use of it, and gettin it in early stages (got anvil while lvl16) is priviledge and makes game more easy.

    Fair enough - I too like to smith sometimes, but wishing for an anvil .
    After all, Thrundarr's fifth quest is basically: I want ye to accidentally obtain a free anvil, whilst slaying a terrible beast which has been terrorising our village.
