The original problem was just two guardians, one who lied and one who told the truth. The trick would be to ask them "Which path would the other one say to take?" The one who lies will lie about what the truthful one would say (telling you the wrong path) and the one who tells the truth will honestly tell you about what the lying one would say (telling you the wrong path). Then you just take the other path.

However, with this third uncaring 50/50 guardian, I can't think of a single question that would be able to solve this. Either multiple questions or being able to ask more than one guardian a question would be required to solve this problem from my understanding.
I said it before, and I'll say it again. If I knew scripture like you, I'd prolly be an athiest too.. -gut

As far as I'm concerned, Order of the Stick references are ace because I get them. Screw anyone else!
ADOM Guides - whatever you wanted to know about playing a certain class, but have been afraid to ask!

Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.

I'll chime in and confess to being an OoTS junkie as well! I've bought 2 copies of The Origin of PCs - one for myself and one as a Christmas present for my brother a couple of years ago. (and I love the current strip's take on 'good' goblins)

As for the 3rd guardian that lies half the time, I haven't seen that variation of the riddle before, and I don't see any way to definitively solve it by asking the same question to all parties, the way you can with the 2-guardian version. You can still ask all parties which way the other guards would say to go, but the truthful guard will have to say, "I don't know" in regards to the inconsistent guard. However, the lying guard can either lie by directing you to the wrong path, or they can lie and say they don't know.

Of course, with the 2-guard version, the lying guard can always say, "I don't know," but that would immediately reveal him as the liar.
You hear the cries of the crowd: "Freebird!! Freebird!! Freebird!!"

    Double altar? :O

(It's "thou" shall find light - nominative case, not accusative)

No, the underline under the PC is his terminal cursor.

Better than the first time I got the stumbled over a stone block message in the dark and cast light... to find out it was a C altar and a kobold was in the room.
