Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.
I still have the Go_Crazy savegame on my PC. It was a blinger challenge game. A disconnected shop was generated. The character had no means of finding where the shop is (no pick, no mapping, no antenae, no item detection, no monster detection, no teleport).
Monks simply dont get the mana loss penalty when writing SoCR. They still lose PP, then HP, and they can die from it as easily as others. When writing other scrolls, they are as proficient as other classes are. I usually dip greater identify scrolls, and normal identify scrolls if they start stacking over 20/30/40.
P.S. I typed teleport, and spellchecker wants to fix it? Because the word is so uncommon on the Internets, alongside with the word mana and savegame.
▼ All their fault. ▼
I have written 5-10 SOCR at this point and I didn't notice any stat or hp/pp loss. It may have happened, but it wasn't significant, as I keep a notepad open with my stats so I can tell if they get drained.. Does this happen everytime?
Ste@m rolling monsters like an 18 wheeler, with a drunk driver driving, there's no surviving!
Way too strong to rely on pr@yers and hope, I walk out the jungle in bear skin coats.

Are you a monk? I skimmed this thread, but couldn't
find your r/c combo. If you are a monk, that would
explain it, but if you are troll barbarian, that's a cool
new find : )
"Whip me!" pleads the adom player. The rng replies... "No."
Sorry, but I can't remember if I asked this question yet. How do I get the exp to show? (after each kill)
Edit: Oh, and for a dwarf, is it better to sac the stomma or sell it and sac the gold?

When in darkness, you can always see the light (unless you're in ADOM)
Most successful combos for me: Grey elf wizards, trollish healers, dark elf beast-fighters, Gnomey monks, and any race barbarians.
I think you did, actually, or it's my mind playing tricks? Did you know that the answer is actually in the manual? You have to open adom.cfg with a text editor (like notepad) and insert the line "Show_Experience = true".
ADOM Guides - whatever you wanted to know about playing a certain class, but have been afraid to ask!
Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.
Ah yes, now i remember. I tried it and it didn't work. Here is what I put down
Code:# # Configuration file for ADOM Version 1.1.1 # # Variable types: # --------------- # boolean [true, false] # string # number (only integers) # # Boolean variables (default = false): # ------------------------------------ # Allow_Default_Names # Auto_Lock_Doors # Auto_Lock_Nearest # Auto_Open_Doors # Auto_Select_Doors # No_Book_Spellcasting # Check_Item_In_Hand # Colored_Menus # Colored_PC # Compact_Kill_List # Display_Key_Code # Fast_Missile_Readying # Fast_More # Fated_Gender # Low_Hitpoint_Warning # Metric_Measuring # Nice_Stuff # Questioned_Attributes # Quitters_Allowed # Random_PC # Reload_Missiles # Reverse_Message_Order # Show_Experience = true # Sorted_Skills # Starvation_Warning # Verbose_Level_Messages # Walk_Carefully # Zap_Wands_In_Hand

Lines starting with a # are comments.
Then where do I put it?

When you open that file, there'll be a section at the end where the used options are listed, they don't start with a #. Just add the Show_Experience there. I also find autopickup set to all useful enough (what with casino and shops) to be included. Persistence is a nice option to modify if you're using an archer, too.
Haven't won with : Druid, Priest, Elementalist, Weaponsmith, Ranger, Merchants, farmers, Necromancer,Thief
Currently trying : Entertaining girlfriend. Very, Very, VERY hard.
Just a silly online game
