How quickly does the cat lord get stronger as you kill more cats?
Right now I've killed 40 feylines and I'm starting to worry.
Does the cat lord only gain HP and melee power, or does he also gain speed?

I haven't noticed that much difference, myself. I think it's mostly HP he gains, but he's pretty strong even with 1 cat. More the problem is if you kill a lot of cats, his XP rolls over and you only gain 1 point.
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.
I wish I could find that old table I had which describes in exact detail how much of everything the cat lord gained per cat/range of cats killed. However, the most important one to worry about is his HP simply because you will normally (if you don't want to die) have him disabled via blinding/confusion/webs/etc.
The amount of cats killed though a normal game will not risk rolling over his exp unless you get really bad luck with black wizard summons or by excessive time spent in the ID hunting the bastards.
I said it before, and I'll say it again. If I knew scripture like you, I'd prolly be an athiest too.. -gut

Yeah, this is not really normal circumstances. I'm hunting giant
slugs in the druid dungeon (doomed myself for increased monster
generation). Luring all cats off the level would be too tedious so
I'm just killing them.
Thanks for the info, both. If the cat lord XP rolls over to nothing,
that's not a big problem, I'm just a little worried he might kill me.

If you are hoping to get a giant slug corpse, you'll have to kill a lot for a decent chance.
If you don't have a high Food Preservation skill (80+), you shouldn't bother.

Yes, true. It's not really worth it, I'm just too stubborn to give up now.
Food pres at 92% for triple corpses, but no giant slug corpse yet. Kills so far:
edit: correction, food preservation is at 100%Code:The following monsters were vanquished: 31 cave lions 21 cave tigers 25 giant slugs 14 wild cats

deploy ammo of hunting
So far rolled 15 casters with RoDS and shamelessly killed them within 200 turns. For eternium glory!
(after 15 I stopped counting...)
Why do you want acid immunity? With resistance there is really nothing to worry about.
ADOM General's warning: Treasure Hunting causes slowness, frailty, terrible markmanship and is dangerous to your characters' health
Ok, so I went into the wilderness, found some barbarians and milked
them for a gazillion arrows. Yep.. 5 arrows of hunting.
Guess what, the first slug dropped a corpse. Huzzah!
For no good reason, really. Why do you want acid immunity? With resistance there is really nothing to worry about.
Now let's see if the cat lord kills me.Code:The following monsters were vanquished: 34 cave lions 22 cave tigers 26 giant slugs 15 wild cats
