Default The worst piece of body armor ever

    Code:
    Worm-ridden clothes [-3, -3] (unpaid, 49gp) (40s) are lying here.
What kills me is the price. 49gp?! It's not even Barnabas, it's Leggot! Who is going to buy this?

I imagine when filling up all the slots of his shitty shop, he was running out of options, so he just looked for a particularly wretched-looking beggar, bought the pest-ridden rags off of him and just ditched the damn thing. Maybe he was trying to make his other items look shiny in comparison. I'd much rather pay 49gp for the mimic, at least he gives me XP!

Seriously though, I dare you: Have you ever found, or made, armor that was worse than this? I know I could make it even worse by reading cursed scrolls of protection and defense over it. I realize with horror now I'm probably going to buy them, because they are so hilariously bad. Maybe if I drop them in front of a creature it will equip them.

Maybe Jellyslayer if you give it enough time - after all, he did stoop to the level of playing doomed chars. Hell, why not worm-ridden -PV ass-rape armor while you're at it.
I've won with the following classes ; Monk and Bard.

Armor gets destroyed if it reaches zero PV as far as I know. Also his isn't frickin' worm-ridden.

In other news, the same game has reached the hallmark of being the first game of mine in which a figurine of wondrous power has been actually useful. I bought a blink dog figurine in a shop for close to 5000 schmuckers, and the first I killed gave me a corpse!

EDIT: Sweet, Literacy off a dark sage! This game is too nice to me... Earlier I had found a large adamantium shield, but couldn't equip it because my wooden shield was cursed. Fire lizard steps on the stage, burns it instantly

I have once you used a figurine shop to power through SMC when my character was too weak or ill-equipped to visit any other interesting place. Good times.

Trapped armor of hate/anger/sloth/damnation would be fun. (Havent ever such a thing, though.)

If this is made of a higher metal (and of course you have no !oE in stock), extra fun.
You steal a scroll labelled HITME. The orc hits you.

Trapped moloch armor [-30 -50] of sloth. Or a cursed ultra-heavy moloch armor [-30 -50] of damnation with no means of curse removal.
When in darkness, you can always see the light (unless you're in ADOM)

Most successful combos for me: Grey elf wizards, trollish healers, dark elf beast-fighters, Gnomey monks, and any race barbarians.

Hey, negative PV can be hard to come by...
Later in the game, when you have slaughtered dwarftown,
killed Guth, and put the old barbarians head on a stick,
you'll be glad for the help this armor will give you in
becoming a crowned champion of law. Well worth the 49g.

Seriously, -1 gloves of smiting beat that. They are almost
common, they have much higher potential (+7 at least),
are greatly treasured by shoppies, have no way of evahr
being improved, and hold the dubious honor of being one
of the only (the only?) items in the whole game of adom
that can't be exploited under any circumstance, even
    hypathetical.

That's why they are me fav.
"Whip me!" pleads the adom player. The rng replies... "No."

Well, if you wanted to hit something without hurting it much... Like turning a blink dog hostile without having other means, such as ventriloquism.
You hit Andor Drakon, the ElDeR cHaOs GoD, and severely wound him.
The greater balor summons some help!
The ratling duelist disarms you. You drop your blessed Trident of the Red Rooster (+36, 6d12+18) [+12, +12]. It flies to the west.
Andor Drakon, the ElDeR cHaOs GoD, picks up the blessed Trident of the Red Rooster (+36, 6d12+18) [+12, +12].
Andor Drakon, the ElDeR cHaOs GoD, wields the blessed Trident of the Red Rooster (+36, 6d12+18) [+12, +12].

Who is going to buy this?
If ADOM were multiplayer, it would be very popular. Curse it with unholy armor, and then donate it as a present to one of your enemies.

    Ehm.

Trapped/cursed armor of order could kill a chaotic char with low healing and no means of removing it. Would be fun to watch the face of such a player once realization set in.

I once was in that situation with trapped armor, luckily it was a troll with good healing. Only problem was that I was trying to stay C the whole game (challenge). Managed to get it rusted by swimming and later on melted in a door trap.

Is the death by wearing armour of the opposite alignment in the Ways to Die thread?
