    Ha, the perfect thread to tempt the RNG with... Luck be a Lady tonight.

    So, I have a hobbit elementalist of variable fortune on the go at the moment - she has some 30s worn boots from an orcish vault in the early CoC, which is great, but no decent weapon, and terrible armour. Really terrible armour - at one point she found a [+0, +2] robe, but it got destroyed by a trap, then she found a standard (-1,-1) [-1, +3] studded leather armour, but it got promptly destroyed by a trap, so she was wandering around in a [+0, +1] robe all the way to level 16. Sad.

    So, I am a dirty rotten scummer, and these days have fallen into the habit of getting a precrown before the pyramid if I can scrape the piety together. My hurthling lost her cooking set ages ago (I am thinking probably a trap ), but here we are at level 16, she sacs some corpses, a bunch of uncursed stoma, sells a pile of sis and all her crap, sacs the gold, and ends up at very close. Shit. I look around my inventory, and notice the black torc. Ha. The torc is definitely underrated IMO - its a fun missile to play around with, and not a bad piece of neck gear, but I decide to trade it with my God for a chance at the black tome. Saccing the torc gets me to extremely close, yay. I pray, and hallelujah, more robes. of resistance. A straight black torc for robes of resistance trade is a fine bargain as far as I am concerned. I can finally ditch my [+0, +1] robe. About bloody time.

    Now I need to buy some lizards and head to the pyramid, and thus proceed with the game.

    How will my Hurthling die?

    Ha ha, holy shit, that would indeed be rough . Hell, with not a single invis pot I might die in the pyramid to an unfortunate combination of monsters - its always possible, if not necessarily likely.

    Well sure, it could have been (-1,+0) [-1,+3], but its close enough to standard for me. It was still a lot better than nothing, and didn't last long enough to be of any use whatsoever. I think the best studded leather armour I found recently was (-1,+0) [+2,+6], but that was a while ago now.

    My hurthling should be safe from single ghost kings, what with the boots and firebolt, and I would count a Nuurag death as something of a success, as I have never obtained more than 1 orb with an elementalist before. I used to play them a lot when I was a noob, and I still send hundreds to their early deaths in the ToEF, but not tried a normal game with one for ages.

    We shall see how she goes.

    He will be hit by the steel golem on the upper level of Darkforge down to 1 Hp, but he'll manage to descend. You'll teleport into the armor room. You'll find an eternium plate mail and put it on. It'll be a charged eternium plate mail and it'll deal exactly 1 damage as you put it on.

    that would be pure irony! but i doubt it is going to happen due to nice PV he has, and lightning resistance from yellow axe and rind.. being doomed can make that happen tho.
