    Default YAVP: Doomed Druid

    Game started off pretty well. Druids are nice for this because you don't have to worry about animals (jackals, rat sickness, claw bugs all being earlygame nuisances) and at level 6, you're immune to wilderness encounters, which means you can actually travel safely between Terinyo and, well, anywhere. I found early herbs in both puppy cave and UD, and ended up with pretty much a full set from that. DD was a bit annoying since I ended up being forced to kill a cat... got surrounded by two cave lions, got lucky and a giant raccoon dug me an escape, only to be replaced by a third freaking cave tiger. Got a slug corpse and the black torc though. Potion shop on D:1 was moderately convenient, but DL:1 potions miss a couple key ones, of course. Cleared the early game stuff as normal, raided Darkforge, Pyramid and Griffyard. Ran into some trouble in Griffyard when I dug up a confusion happy master lich, and Nonnak actually was pretty tough as well. Killed Khelly, but found teleport book later. Did Rift early to get a semi-full set of books. Rift was interesting: there were a couple greater water elementals, a werewolf king, a mimic hivemind, and a bunch of other nasty stuff I don't remember. Probably one of the worst I've seen in a long time.

    ToEF was almost a disaster. I didn't have enough confusion/blindness available, didn't have alertness or high speed, and didn't really have a good way to inflict serious damage on the ACW. I burned through a huge pile of PoEH and PoUH during this fight, and ended up beating him by boozing up a blessed wand of poison, and alternating between shots of poison and healing pots until the ACW was overwhelmed by poison. Dove for Casino. Was forced to rob it, since I didn't realise that I had mana battery and wracked up over 100k in debt to the merchant's guild in wands that I'd grabbed. Only greater vault was undead with 12 emperors, which I avoided, but cleared Earth and Air without too much trouble. Dropped AKW and a GKW with magic missiles. MT level had a huge threat room of minotaur mages that give me fits. I didn't have the Wi to resist confusion and keep my distance, and couldn't teleport, so all I could do was repeatedly cast through confusion while suffering repeated stat drains. I think I lost about 10 points across the board there. Archmage was blessedly easy. Just blinded him and tanked in melee. Was at corruption O by the time that was done, so I got cleansed and dove to D:50. Used a couple scrolls of familiar summoning to clear the way to the levers, planted a summon on each and left the chain.

    Yes, it would have been unseemly to tp out, grab some gold from a slot
    machine, then pay. You did the appropriate thing. Mwuhahaha

    I recommend elementalist for yer next doomy victory.

    Don't you get the "something inhibits your teleportation powers" message blocking you from leaving and going to the slot machine?

    I sure hope so.. otherwise running into a threat room of Minotaur Mages on MT two games in a row with the same r/c combo is some really bad luck.

    I didn't think about it working on 'merchant guild' debt. I tried to
    test using adombot, but it crashed, so I don't know for sure.
