With three sources and the teleport spell the damage shouldnt be that bad.

If you stick to this equipment, I *think* a ring of ice is more effective on the right hand, while it makes no difference for the ring of fire resistance, so I'd switch the rings. But I'm not certain this is correct.
You steal a scroll labelled HITME. The orc hits you.

The damage isn't too bad if you miss one resistance and have something to heal yourself. And you actually have two sources of fire resistance even without the ring: Elemental gauntlets and Hammerhead.

Wear the extra fire resistance and only 1 ring of ice. Two is excessive unless you plan on using SoCR as missiles.

The Ancient Chaos Wyrm is no more. Unfurtunately, at a terrible cost. Here's what happened - I equipped 2x blessed rings of ice and dug my way to the elemental temple. I frost-bolted a few mobs and then engaged the wyrm. First, I fired all my dragon-slaying arrows, but only 2 out of 8 hit, then I started to bolt him with frost bolts, but he shrugged most of them, then I got into melee range and cast two acid balls, which depleted my power points completely. The wyrm was severely wounded by that time and I hoped I'll be able to finish him off with missles, casting an occasional Lightning Bolt should PP allow... but unfortunately I wasn't able to deliver a killing blow ... and then one badly targeted Lightning Bolt bounced back and hit me - that's when I lost my girdle of giant strength *sob* ...

After a long while of firing missles at him I decided it's time to retreat and change the strategy. I went downstairs, regenerated all my power points and went back up to finish the wyrm with acid balls only. It died after three or four. I hold the Orb of Fire now, but I am angry because I lost my precious girdle.

Oh, that's not the only thing. cloak of protection and bracers of defence got burned, even though I had 2x blessed rings of ice.

But at least I'm able to dive deeper now. Onward!

Cloaks burn no matter what you have. I believe they are handled differently by the game. The bracers were really bad luck, I guess. (Not that you'd be likely to miss a crappy pair of bracers of defence...)

Getting passed the ACW is all that matters. Your equipment is expendable--anyway, you can go to the Casino now (assuming you've done HoTHK), so you will be able to resupply on good stuff without any problems.

Acid ball is the best damage spell in the game. If you have a lot of castings of it, don't be afraid to take advantage, particularly against nasty foes like orb guardians, cat lords, and emperor liches.

In the future, be less afraid from casting from HP - you'd have saved a lot of grief that way, I think. Unless of course you were really living on the edge concerning your HP and needed every bit, but that doesn't sound likely to me.

Casting from HP might cost you a bit of Mana score in the not-too-distant future, but beating the ACW quickly is worth that much.

Also regarding "terrible cost" - Even experienced players will agree that the ToEF is not trivial. Measured by relative power of the PC, it is the hardest place in the entire game by a length, what with the terrible shock attacks of the Wyrm and the restriction in equipment and the high to-hit grues and elementals... If you've beat the Tower, you're essentially perfectly capable to beat the rest of the game unless you do stupid things. If it costs you a Girdle of Giant Strength, that's a little price to pay for a great accomplishment. The things look dinky anyway.
ADOM Guides - whatever you wanted to know about playing a certain class, but have been afraid to ask!

Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.

Dunno why you risked wearing the girlde in the Tower. What tactical advantage did it give you? Well done on downing the wyrm anyway.

After obtaining the Orb of Elemental Fire, Nexar went to the Tomb of the High Kings to get the ring. Cavernous levels were not difficult at all, although a Corruptor hit him twice, and Nexar has a first corruption (grown thorns). On the good side, he did get two corpses of giants, which resulted in nice +2 St points (after starving him to lower his St). Skeletal King also turned out not to be a challenge at all (he was frost-bolted to death).

With both OoEF and RotHK, Nexar went back to CoC, stopping at the Dwarftown to rearrange his inventory and to train a bit with Garth, and is now heading towards the wall of flames.

On his way through the animated forest, a nice surprise happened! the pathway is shrouded in magical darkness and Nexar is bored enough to pick up nothing on his way, because he can't see what lies under his feet.

But in the middle of the way, Nexar decided to make one exception ... do you wonder what did he pick up? hehehe

    Code:
    It's dark here!
It's dark here! Something seems to be lying on the ground.
You pick up seven league boots [+4, +0]. You have a fair feeling about the
    uncursed arrow.
From now on in darkness, I'll be picking up everything.

I'm not past the casino and I found another ring of djini summoning, and I wonder what to wish ... I think about phase daggers.
