Agreed, but only for relatively dark tones of blue. Also doesnt hurt to mix in some red/green so its a bit more greyish.
I use #111122 for my terminal background, try it, it rocks

#111122 is way too dark. Try #003366. Not only is it more pleasing to my eyes, it is also web safe.
