Do druids have the same problem?
Druids, and, I think paladins have the same problem (don't remember if there are any other divine casters). Ball spells are the most obvious, but the effect is a large number of spells. A priest can reliably expect to find several books of every healing spell in the game, and more know alignment books than they'd ever want; wizards will rarely see either of these spells, and tend to get more bolt or tactical spells.
It looks like, assuming the manual is correct, wizards should see more books of:
Magic missile, knock, all ball spells, slow monster, invis, teleport, SoA, magic lock, web
And priests should see more of:
All cure wounds spells, including heal, disarm trap, bless, cure disease, neutralize poison, destroy undead, slow poison, earthquake, relevation, know alignment, petrify
All other spells should be seen about equally.
I think it goes without saying that one of those lists is clearly better than the other. Needless to say, this is probably the biggest reason why wizards are preferred over priests--priests are arguably better in every other respect.
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.
