Was stupid enough to try to take on a mimic tension room (fake store). Figured that the main danger was paralysis, which was addressed by my Amulet of Free Action. Over the duration of about 4 turns, of which two were me running away, it managed to get at least two critical hits and a hit though armour, plus about 8 more hits. Caused massive bleeding, too.

As for what I did in the game - killed Kranach and Hotzenplotz, saved the puppy and Yrrigs, did all of Thrundarr's quests except the Demon, got Courage from the Old Barbarian, joined the Thieves' guild, killed Rehetep, Holy Watered Griff, visited the Assassin's Guild, raided the Darkforge storerooms by teleportation, beat the water temple, and visited the HMV and the Tomb of the High Kings (not in that order). Had killed some cats, didn't save Khelavaster (but got that Blessed Eternium Dagger of Penetration from him, anyway), and had yet to visit the Tower.

Yeah, higher mimics, such as master mimics, can deal very high critical damage. Even normal mimics aren't exactly trivial, though 30 PV deals with them. As a rule, I always either immediately close fake shops or shoot everything in them from very far away, that way you only fight one at a time.
ADOM Guides - whatever you wanted to know about playing a certain class, but have been afraid to ask!

Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.
