On my way to deleting the account of 'buycialis', I couldn't help
noticing the reasons (and point deductions) for infractions





We would each be banned how many times by now?

Anyway, fun aside, I cannot delete posts. At least I explored for
a good while and couldn't find a way. I will just limit myself to
deleting the zero posting 'buy cialis' types of bots.

And I think I just got all the B's. Well, there were a couple I was only 99% sure about, so
decided to leave them a while. Out of fear that I might accidentally delete someone's
account who just may have unwisely advertised their site, I started pasting (some of) the
offending urls beside the name list I was keeping. Figured Grey might find some of these
of interest, or maybe just good for a few laughs.

You know, it's much better advertisement to have a handy list in a forum thread than signatures of spambots that never even posted. Kind of counter-productive isn't it?

(I have to say, if all that my corporation did was make and sell spare tires for lawn mowers, I'd be grasping for any straw I could get my hands on, too.)

EDIT: Something constructive, too; I found spambot users by sorting for posts; for some reason if there's the same amount of posts (say, zero) they get sorted by join date. The spambot users tend to clump together this way. Besides, spambots are going to have 0, 1, maybe 2 posts, or go all the way to the top(ler).

There are only 0 posts spambots on the forums - I have purged all others. In the Members List go to Search Member > Advanced Search, choose post count == 0 and order by join date and you'll have a simple list to work through.

This isn't hugely necessary mind. I asked TB to make some extra mods to cover me in case I'm away for a week or more and we get some terrible attack. Monitoring new users is easy since there aren't many and you can straight away see from the answer to the "favourite race/class" question if they are a spambot. Still, I'd like to get the forum purged of all the inactive spambots with links, and I have been slowly working through them with this end goal in mind.

If any posts crop up that need deleting then mark them with the "Report Post" button and I'll get to it as soon as I can.

Interesting. Looking through the profiles of recent joins, an awful lot of them seem to have joined the forum because they wanted to see pictures. I think the Paint Picture thread is attracting a lot of attention.
