Edit: out of curiosity why cure light wounds? is it the most efficient or something? Unless things have changed since last I played some healing is a very tempting choice. Speaking of which, how about the healing skill? (it's probably not a RoDS anyway, bah)

The Healing skill is a decent suggestion, but for two things: it can't be wished for, and we already have it

28009 - notice I'm hungry, eat some hurthing bread, start waiting in the darkness for HP to regenerate
28507 - I have about half my health back, so I explore the darkness a little. use burning hands to kill something (almost certainly one of the dragons) next to me
28536 - I leave the darkness to explore the level some more
28613 - I burn another dragon, loot a ration and some scrolls
28613 -> 28754 - Burn 3 more dragons, and I thought they were going to eat me, pah.
28764 - level to 18 killing a dragon, woohoo we are not IMMUNE TO WEATHER EFFECTS. +1 gemology to 57, +4 first aid to 84, +1 mining to 83 (out of useful skills). picked quick for our talent.
28884 - descend to the next level
28921 - another tension room, bah
28944 - I looted a medium mithril shield - (+2) [+5 +1] which I have equipped
28962 - found the tension room, it's a bunch of random monsters. I start frostbolting them. Somewhere along the line I find a doppleganger king, cast darkness and blast him.
29081 - while running from a iron golem, I get attacked by a quickling queen. frostbolt her (one shot, whew) and chug a potion of cure poison. still running from the golem
29206 - I've lost the golem, I burn a dwarven chaos knight (no pickaxe) and melee some blink dogs. No corpse (but I guess we already have tele control so it's ok)
29268 - polearms to 7 fighting blink dogs
29300 - the golem is back so I descend to get away, sorry for 2x descents
29312 - +1 mana
29626 - I dip our ID scrolls in holy water and read them to check the dragon loot and that ring. It's a ring of fire not a RoDS w5 the rest of my turn to freshen the character up for the next guy
30000 - done, and I didn't even get eaten by dragons.

Whew, thanks alot to everyone in the irc channel who helped me - I always though darkness was useless and they also gave me hints on various other things. I used up a lot of our firebolt castings on the dragons, I think we only have 27 left but we did get a level.

Sorry I forgot to save a .vlg, but I've only explored the starting room for this level anyway. I intended to wait in the down stair room till the end of my turn but the golem forced me down here, oh well.

league2, we've had a problem. Due to an error in which the league2 account was set up Al-Khwarizmi's save was not backed up. I'm afraid that means we'll have to continue from the previous save - meh's as it happens.

It also happens that I'm within the next 3 for league2. However I'm also quite drunk... Still, I'm no stranger to danger, and though drunken play has always led to failure for me, I will bravely march forward into certain defeat Feel free to spectate my miserable demise...

...Uh, actually, just been informed that there needs to be a maintenance break on the server. After that is done I'll take my turn. Please nobody start a new turn for a little while... (I'm aware that qui is still going, though he has forgotten to change his player name - we'll do the maintenance break as soon as he's finished)

Anyway, the report:

I used holy water to get more holy water, and then I used it on ?oUncursing, and uncursed equipment. Used ?oDefense to improve our helmet to [+2,+4]. Also it means that we have an uncursed ring of invisibility. The only problem is that a LOT of food is needed to use it continuously. Therefore I had to stop blasting a room full of chaos spawns. Decided to search for more food a level lower. Killed some stuff there, including a stone giant lord, +1 St. Karmic dragon appeared. Didn't see me, but I decided I need to evacuate to the next level. There I met exploding door, which shredded our cloak on touch :(. Stupid door. Also met a greater water elemental, decided not to play with it at the moment. It was last seen in that barely visible room on top right, along with dark elven lord.

That would be all. Food situation is stable, but there's no abundance. I advise not using invisibility more than necessary until more is found. On a brighter note, we have a spare helmet from another chaos knight. And a writing set if someone wants to try something.

There's a couple of test chars on there at the moment. Later on it shall fill with our deaths Remember that the rated order there does not match the rated order for the competition (since points matter little). It does mean that you no longer have to retrieve character details when you die. However it also means that you must be extra careful to change you character name at the start of your round! This is so that you appear properly on the high score listing.
