First 500 turns: Stayed on the level killing a few grubs. Nothing of interest really. Hill giant chieftain corpse didn't give any stat bonus Found spellbook of Light, read to death. Found a scroll of identify and a new box (not used either).
500-1000: Found adamantium halberd, so decided to use holy water on identify to make sure it was okay to equip. Dumped some junk. We don't really have anything overly noteworthy. Equipped the blessed adamantium halberd (+9, 2d7+9). Killed a stone giant lord and lightning lizard, but we're still nowhere near a level up. Shadow Troll drops a Lightning Bolt spellbook - with 26 Le I decide it's best to read it to death. Total 760 castings. Not much use compared to our better trained spells anyway.
1000-1500: Dorn beast appears and shrugs off my bolts - I decide it's time to descend. Sense a tension on the next level. Since I'm being paranoid I zap our wand of monster detection - reveals a large room of giants. Might be tasty... Trap door strips off half hp and destroys a lot of items, including 1 of our holy waters. In the interest of future security I decide to bless our remaining 3 waters. I start dispatching the hill giants, which ain't easy with low PP. Pick up antenna corruption in the process.
1500-2000: Criticalled down to 1 HP, trapped in a room with hill giants attacking, and out of PP too. Only exit leads to more hill giants. Damn, I think, just one option left - I pray. It is unheard. Crap... Okay, calm thoughts. Hmm, 10 PP, I could try and take a couple down with a bolt spell, or.... Darkness! I'm saved! Ate 3 giant corpses but no strength increase Healed up a bit in darkness, and when I tried to move I found myself surrounded. Killed some of the lurking giants, but there still seems to be plenty around. Turns ran out whilst I was still in darkness.
Next player be careful. Thegiants ain't too bad, but with crits they can kill. Not far off level 17 now... vlg is here.
