Few notes:
Sorry for all TH lovers. I was decided to pick Potent Aura just not to make it meat grinder early on. Unluckily it was not an option so i picked Fey blooded which actually gave enough Mana to get Potent aura.
This luckily enables confusion blast. [Ctrl+x when m...]
Early on between confusion blast and true berserk you should not face lots of problem.
Three things to aim at early rounds:
1. leveling - mindcrafters in general do better with leveling. lv6 is in particular break point due to first attacking power.
2. rocks - you start with thrown rocks at four. Forget slings, rocks already are at +6 to damage.
3. Getting St up. 4 is not making cut by any means.
Few words on mindcrafters:
A) You have permanent tp control
B) you suck with book reading really hard
C)you are hurted by dealing with undead. Unlfie and some *non brain* animals like jellies and eyes are not affected by jeddi tricks. Some other rare animals might be resistant to mindcraft [cosshoo springs to mind]
About combo:
You have archery+ thrown rocks already developed with reasonable Dx. You level fast and mindcrafters do well on when leveled.
You do not having healing but have cooking set. So get some food cooked and regenerate your health in first two rounds.
About wand:
Lucky - i do recall having some problems with high end liches [in particular getting them paralyzed in message but not reality]. IIRC, same is with ghuls and skeletons, so i suspect all undead being buggy.
