    Default Offensive Alchemy and Drakelings

Is this particularly good for fire-immune drakelings for a speed boost?

I've got an old save with a drakeling with alchemy and materials, but his alchemy is 100 so I'm imagining it's not a high damage fireball anyway (I remember hearing that offensive alchemy works better at low alchemy scores)

There is no such thing as "fire-immune drakeling".
And yes. That's pretty common technique to boost speed early.

Will fire still hurt me even if I've got =Fire? Does it cap out at a certain point? I know the ToEF does of course.

I've got a level 30 drakeling mindcrafter going for a win and a lesser vault of red dragons I'm thinking about clearing out. They shouldn't be bad once they're confused as long as it's not worse than the ToEF for damage at the start.

White dragons would be much more dangerous than red ones, who I think will not be worse than the ToEF. Have fun.

iirc fire does damage only after you reach a certain speed bonus (overheating), if you have normal fire immunity.

Short answer: not a great method for boosting speed (my opinion, considering the hassle to start it up and the low returns).

I did a quick test using alchemy: 10... you get a boost of 2 or 3 speed per explosion, which lasts about 50 turns (cumulative). At +20, you start taking avg 3 damage per additional explosion (but not per turn), with a speed cap of +99. Negative speed from cold has a cap, too, but I don't remember what it is. Hope that helps.

The speed boost from alchemy explosions can be handy, but to be honest it's best used for recovering speed rather than buildinf it up before an important fight. Great for after D49 for instance.

Yeah my drakeling is currently waiting it out on D:50 trying to regain speed, hoping the Titan doesn't decide to wander in here.

Of course, as I type this I'm realizing I'm an idiot. I'm a mindcrafter with tons of Crystals of fire. Seems like I could get my speed up pretty quickly that way.

Remember to throw the crystals next to yourself. Wands of fire aimed at 5 also work.
