Hmm, i think it is actually giving the berserker bonus, just not as much.
Whips depending on Dx: prolly accounts for it. Here is test nuttiness:

on a St:30 Dx:13 troll ranger:
a +1, 1d4+2 orc dagger yields +40, 1d4+25
a -4, 1d3+2 scourge yields +26, 1d3+13


EDIT: that was dual wielding dagger and scourge. single wielding each
yielded similar results, just less to-hit

I think the problem was dual wielding with the large ration. Non-weapons don't get true berserk bonus.

i was never dual wielding with the ration.

i tested by single wielding the scourge, then dual wielding
scourge+orc dagger. the single and dual wielding numbers
were similar, with the exception of to-hit.

It's probably happening often, but I got an eternium chain main with 11 PV destroyed by a single critical hit from an erath elemental in the earth temple. I had seen some -1 -2 -3 -4 PV reduction from armor damage and then getting destroy if it was tor each a negative PV value, but never an armor being destroyed from +11 in a single hit.

It happens somewhat frequently while doomed... I think it's pretty rare otherwise. I suspect PV damage is related to the damage taken from the critical hit.

Yeah, pretty sure I have had undamaged armour destroyed by a single hit a few times in my largely undoomed ADOM career, but its nowhere near as common as just loosing some PV.
