    Just Grey

And seconded on JellySlayer's points. I spoiled myself mightily on ADOM before ever getting that deep, so I missed out on a lot of the fun of discovery.

The guard can be removed from the stairs by forceful means, magical means, or by losing a round on the slots. The latter is both easiest and least deadly

Oh, and do give some consideration to corruption from here on - it's not worth dawdling on any levels. And although you may not see a certain feline fiend, it doth not makes his claws less sharp. Be prepared!

Indeed you did. Good that you got him before his brethren became intractable.

That's sad. I guess you didn't notice the black D in the heat of battle?

Grey: the same happened to me as well... sometimes I wish I could go back to the days when I thought the ID was the main dungeon, and never rerolled because I didn't have any "standards" for a new character...

Well, I found him in this tiny room in this level and then I ran from him up some stairs cause everyone says he is so scary! (They're right)

Then as I was running I ran into some webs from a spider and he caught up to me! Then I ran some more, and a secret door opened and an Ancient Black Dragon was there!

But it Breathed at me and didn't hurt!

Then I was like I can't keep running cause the Spider Webs, and turned to fight, but I was losing, then the Dragon got close when I wasn't looking!

Oh, BTW, I Noticed in my Memorial Page, not One Character has gotten past level 20! That is the Hurdle!

Also, Kroak got second place, roughly 200 thousand points behind dear old Falco, who must have bribed the judges or something, for how many points he got and how little he did.

    Okay!

Now, I have an extra special character I was saving, but I will try her now. Someone said on Creator's Day make a bunch of characters. And I did.

And this one, she was made on Creator's day, which makes her special, and a Falling Star Killed the Village Elder the night she was born, which makes her extra special!

So far she is so fragile, it is so weird. I'm actually afraid to melee with this girl, since she is so delicate. Her Starting St was 9. I got it up to 11 though, which is her St Potential? I don't know if I can get past that normally. But this will be my first wizard in a long time.

Oh, I guess I should mention she is a Grey Elf Wizard. I don't know wizards very well, since they always die on me before I get to the D:1. But I am gonna give this girl the best chance she can have! For instance, I ran out of the Small Cave (?) without getting the blanket which is the first thing I always do, cause she would have died I think otherwise.

    Okay!

Welcoming Wizard and Grey Elf tips! Wish me good luck!

Use spells. Bolt things. Get teleport and control. Darkness is your friend. Invisibility is your friend. Dual wield shields.
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.

You had acid immunity, that's why. It does not, however, mean you're immune to physical attacks from creatures with acid breath.

My favorite race/class combo is dark elf wizards, but there shouldn't be a significant difference. First, set tactics to Coward now. Read all your spellbooks, unless you have complicated ones like Mystic Shovel or Death Ray among them. You'll be using bolt spells in Coward for some time, since it's unlikely that you have more than 1 PV right now, and melee is out of the question with that setup.

Strength and its potential can both be increased to a respectable level by buying large rations from Terinyo. They're cheap and quite heavy, so it's easy to get strained by carrying just a few. Your Toughness is probably pitiful too. That's fixable with morgia roots as you already know, although it'll have to 1. wait until you find herbs, and 2. also take longer due to potential-related delays. (When a stat is maxed, training increases the potential by one instead.)

What I suggest is going to the ID to prepare yourself. You'll want to have at the very least 5 PV, ideally 10, before thinking about melee, which you'll use to kill mooks and save spell castings. You probably know which armor tends to give how much protection, and thus is a good idea to wear, even if it might be cursed. The ID will also give you books (wizards get many more than non-spellcasting classes) and other useful items. Darkness is a quite common spell that's just as overpowered. It is likely that you will acquire at least poison resistance and teleport control on your way too. Stay there until you reach your first ten levels, which won't take too long. Then, once your inventory looks better, you can go to the CoC.

    All the best!

I'm not sure, but I think this was some kind of Dark Elf City! Was this one of the obstacles mentioned that I would encounter? The little City in the bottom right was full of Dark Elves and had a Living Wall guarding one of the entrances. Also, the whole level had tons of Dark Elves throughout it until I killed them. Then they had pretty normal monsters coming around.

Okay! Just wanted to share! Gonna give Fae, my Wizard some more time!

    Thanks everybody!
