Default Call for screenshots / videos

Thomas Biskup is looking for screenshots and videos of ADOM gameplay he can use to demonstrate what the game looks like, especially in its more exciting moments. Relevant blog post:

I'm sure many people have existing images and vids that could be put to good use here. I unfortunately only have a couple of pics due to a hard drive wipe a few months back, but my videos are still up on Viddler. There are a few things in public spaces like that if people are willing to give permission for them to be used. For example:

http://plog.atspace.com/ - gut's Let's Plays pics, with many great images from through the game
    http://www.youtube.com/user/Silfir - Silfir's excellent Let's Play video series
    http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDB573862D9427191 - Soirana's fantastically comprehensive video series
http://www.viddler.com/profile/gut - gut's videos (mostly from competitions and speedrun attempts)

In particular finding those "interesting moments" is important, the bits that show the excitement of ADOM. Not the hours of herb scumming and inventory fiddling

If that (sigged) video where I clear bugcave with a wish would be any use I'd have no problem with that. It might be a bit too specialized for a demo, dunno.

I think there are a bunch of old recordings on Andy Williams page too?

You steal a scroll labelled HITME. The orc hits you.

Your sigged video is pretty sick. Even kind of hilarious when you're getting rid of the banshee. "Bansheee... Yes, that's a good banshee. Good banshee."

Will you be showing those before or after mentioning that player death is permanent? Because to me, a lot of those "interesting moments" turn out to be "fatal encounters"

Although, if I'd made a video of the moment I discovered that my necromancer was immortal (during the boss fight of the Mana Temple) that would rate as "interesting" in my book.

When I have a bit more time, maybe I'll make a video of an attempt at clearing a greater undead vault I'm sure I have a high level PC kicking around who has an unfinished one.

btw., Grey, maybe you should sticky TB's message asking for donations so it doesn't get lost?
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.

Done! I think he wants videos to use sooner rather than later by the way.

this is the funniest one i have, the one where I die so unfairly to the lightning vortex.
Nothing would display the true nature of adom more than that one.
Would maybe want to delete my maniacle laughter at the end though, as I think
it scared some weak hearted forum goers when I originally posted it

as far as pictures are concerned, this page should make a good case for why a
    bugfix version is so worthwhile:

I am slightly confused why game's creator would need any sort of permission to use views out of his game. Always thought that was included in copyright thing.

He gets my permission anyway if needed.
So far rolled 15 casters with RoDS and shamelessly killed them within 200 turns. For eternium glory!
    (after 15 I stopped counting...)

I just have been accused of being such a bad guy during the past couple of days by some very persistent haters that I got slightly paranoid and want to show that I'm honest ;-) Those guys really can get at your nerves ;-)

I am currently off the grid and only had a second to look into the forum. Everything I have done that is useful is yours.
ADOM Guides - whatever you wanted to know about playing a certain class, but have been afraid to ask!

Check out my youtube channel to see my ADOM videos, including a completed playthrough of the game. I try to give instructions, so if you want to see some place you haven't been before and get some hints on how to deal with it, this might help! There's also some other games featured there that you might find interesting.
