    Default Third Win: Hurthling Thief

    It's going to take five posts to go over the FLG and the log file that I keep for each character. I trimmed every piece of unnecessary datum from the FLG, but I have about 41000 characters to post, and couldn't get it below 40000. Here it is:

    I was born in the month of the Sword. I advance in melee weapon skills 20% quicker and get +10% positive modifiers from Tactics settings. I started out the game with the Mad Carpenter quest. My first kill was a large bat. On VD: 6, a green worm made me sick. I rushed to Jharod and was healed. I managed to lead Yrrigs to Jharod and learn the Healing and Bridge Building skills. I went to Lawenilothehl to prune my inventory and learned that blubbery potions are potions of booze.

    I went to the Puppy Cave after this, ate a giant ant warrior corpse on PC: 2, and gained acid resistance. On PC: 4, there was a neutral altar and a scroll shop. I have 991 gold pieces. Using them, I will try to convert it to lawful. It was enough! Now I will go for a precrowning. I got precrowned with the dwarven pick axe "Hammerhead!" It does much better damage than any other weapon I've found so far. Not to mention that I can mine with it. I cleared the gnoll and hyena vault on PC: 6 without any problems and found an excellent shield down there- a tower crystal shield (-2) [+13, +4]. I got the cute dog corpse and completed the Puppy Cave quest without any problems.

    Next, I went to the Old Barbarian's Glade to start the Courage quest. I've killed 21 large bats so far and need 20 more for a total of 41. On D: 1, there was a potion shop! On D: 2, I came across a large spider corpse and gained poison resistance. I reached the Arena on D: 3. On D: 4, there was a river. Fortunately, both staircases were on the same side of the river. On D: 6, there was a beehive and a royal treasury. I got 2 lumps of bee wax and a lump of gelee royal from the hive. With help from a wand of monster detection, I dug my way to the vault. I found out that royal guardians kill monsters that are lured to their vaults! What a boon for my quest to retrieve a certain ring! Or maybe not. "Jakob, the royal guardian, yells at you in a friendly manner." But then I talked to him and he turned hostile. On D: 7, I reached the Big Room, and on D: 8, I reached the si level. On D: 9, there were herbs. I didn't stay there for long, though, and went straight to D: 10- Dwarftown. Thrundarr's quest was to slay a ratling warrior. I went to D: 11 to seek a ratling warrior. I found the Moon Sickle on D: 11. There was also a clear pool on D: 11. I explored the entire level, but found no ratling warrior. I went back to the Big Room to harvest herbs. Apparently the ratling warrior picked up a potion of invisibility and drank it before I killed it. I thought I was fighting an ogre magus.

    On D: 12, there was a lawful altar. There were also 2 staircases on D: 12. When I got within 10000 experience points of level 17, I headed to the Pyramid. The top level had 2 cats and a lightning vortex. Thankfully I was wearing my cloak of invisibility. Rehetep was a pushover, as usual. After completing the Pyramid, I went to Terinyo. I gave Blup some carrot juice and learned the swimming skill. Then I killed Hotzenplotz for Tywat Pare and acquired an amulet of order.

    I went back to D: 12 and went through the Animated Forest. My reward from Thrundarr for completing that quest was a wand of fireballs. I did the Ogre Tribe quest and received 5000 gold pieces. Next, I started the Arena quest. The champion I fought against was Bonk, the hill giant. I killed him easily and completed the quest, receiving the golden gladius. I exchanged it for training from Bart. As a reward for that quest, I got a blessed fireproof blanket, blessed waterproof blanket, 5 uncursed potions of extra healing, an uncursed potion of ultra healing, an uncursed potion of gain attributes (light green), and some other stuff. I then did the greater daemon quest by sacrificing it, and sold Big Punch.

    I'm going to attempt to acquire a wish from the pool on D: 11. I got bitter water (would've poisoned me, but I'm resistant) and the second try, nothing happened. Then the pool dried up. On D: 15, there was a purple pool. I drank from it once, but nothing happened, and it dried up.

    On D: 14, there was a mixed vault and a tension room of orcs. On D: 16, Khelavaster was slowly dying. I don't have any wishes or amulets of life saving. I'm going to go to Darkforge and examine the pools there. While in Darkforge, I gained the Poison Hands corruption. I started sipping in the pool room. I gained teleport control, teleportitis, shock resistance, sleep resistance, and death ray resistance. I gained +1 perception and +1 toughness. My strength was abused quite a bit from those pools. In the armor room, I found red dragon scale mail, blue dragon scale mail, and nothing else of interest. I took some weapons from the weapons room, gold from the gold room, and the crown of science. I sacrificed the crown of science since I'm not going to use it.

    I'm going to get the ring of the High Kings now. On UC: 2, there were herbs, and I made 2 sustainable patches. On UC: 3, there was a neutral altar. Once 10000 gold pieces had been acquired, I converted the altar with them. On UC: 4, there was a river. I need to build 2 bridge sections to safely reach the down staircase. Before I started chopping wood, I went to the Gremlin Cave and obtained the phial of Caladriel and a climbing set since I was already in the area. One load of logs was enough to build the 2 bridge sections. Lots of live sacrifices and sacrificing of cooked corpses of things that are bad to eat enabled me to get crowned lawful. I gained shock immunity. My crowning gift was the cloak of Oman. What a great gift! It will have to share time with my cloak of invisibility, though, unless I find a ring. I had to take two trips to get enough logs to make it to the skeletal king's door. Then I easily defeated him and got the ring of the High Kings. While in the Tomb of the High Kings, my tissue became corrupted and it heals much faster, but leaves scars that reduce dexterity.

    After this, I headed to the Dwarven Graveyard. Thanks to my teleportitis, I was able to teleport directly to the eastern portion of the level. I killed Griff Bloodax with a potion of holy water, and I was easily able to kill Nonnak with brute force. I got the elemental gauntlets and the sword of Nonnak and left the level. Next, I went to the Water Dragon's Lair. I don't have any water breathing items, so I used a wand of teleportation. I used 3 charges of the wand and a potion of extra healing, but I made it. I went to Blup and told him about the cave.

    I then went to the small cave, using my cloak of invisibility to get through. On UD: 1, there were herbs and an ant hive. On UD: 2, there was a river. I used my teleportitis to get across it. On UD: 4, there was a mixed tension room full of summoners and a gray pool. All the monsters necessary to replace an intrinsic if I lose it are present- spiders and blink dogs on this level, and ants a few levels above. I gained intrinsic invisibility, lost the lucky intrinsic, got sick, got even more sick, lost Fate Smiles, gained cold resistance, enjoyed some dwarven ale, gained petrification resistance, had some other irrelevant things happen to me, and then the pool dried up. On UD: 5, there was a lawful altar. What a boon! On UD: 7, there were herbs. On UD: 8, there was a wand shop. Maybe this could be my ticket to a wand of wishing? Nay, the danger level is too low.

    I went to the High Mountain Village and obtained the scroll of chaos resistance, strange message, and potion of ultra healing. After this, I went to the Assassins' Guild. With help from a scroll of item detection, I obtained the wand of teleportation. As I was making my way back to the Caverns of Chaos, I decided to fight a giant boar that I had encountered. I got a skull from it! I won't have any use for it during this game, though. I talked to the Old Barbarian and gained the Courage skill. I spent some time in the Tomb of the High Kings looking for the means to an amulet of life saving, but to no avail. I know that a ring of djinni summoning's unidentified name is either an onyx ring or an opal ring. There are several possibilities of what the unidentified name of an amulet of life saving could be. One of said possibilities was in the Water Dragon's Lair. There was also an onyx ring in the Water Dragon's Lair. Using darkness and teleportation, I grabbed the items that I needed. The iron amulet wasn't an amulet of life saving, but the onyx ring was a ring of djinni summoning! Now I can save Khelavaster and proceed with the game.

    On D: 17, there was a bee hive. I got 3 lumps of bee wax and a lump of gelee royal from it. The Dwarven Graveyard was on D: 18. On D: 19, there was a tension room of mimics. On D: 20, I reached the Water Temple. I killed the Snake from Beyond very easily and cooked its corpse. On D: 21, there was an ogre vault. On D: 22, there were herbs and a mixed tension room. D: 24 was the Banshee's level. There was also an ant hive on that level. On D: 27, there was a river. At the minimum, I'll need 3 bridge sections to cross it. I was able to understand Khelavaster's spellbook of Teleportation, but didn't decipher the runes in the spellbook of Identify before it disappeared.

    After this, I headed to the Tower of Eternal Flames. The majority of the fight against the Ancient Chaos Wyrm was spent trying to chase it down with dragon slaying arrows as it fled. The Ancient Chaos Wyrm didn't even hit me once. My lust for fire giant king corpses caused me to have to use up a healing prayer. It's not uncommon to lose 150 HP in one turn from those beasts! I went back to Dwarftown and sold my cooked Ancient Chaos Wyrm corpse to Waldenbrook. While descending the Caverns of Chaos, I gained the tough scales corruption- PV +8, dexterity -6. I easily crossed the river on D: 27 using the Bridge Building skill and continued to descend through the Caverns of Chaos. On D: 26, there were herbs and sustainable 2x2 patches! There was also a tension room of annis hags, which I ignored. On D: 25, there was a golem vault. There was also an east-west river, which made for an interesting vault layout. On D: 29, the eternal guardian was guarding the down staircase, but I passed peacefully while wearing the ring of the High Kings. The Casino was on D: 30. In the shop, there was a fire lizard statue. I bought it and kicked it down, but didn't get any wands.

    On D: 32, there was a black dragon vault. I decided to clear it, but didn't take proper precautions to protect my equipment, of which I lost a lot. One of the dragons dropped an orc butcher statue, but it didn't yield any wands. While fighting the dragons, I gained the sulphur exhalation corruption. The boss of the vault was Keredetiussanavus, the great black wyrm. I killed him without any problems and got a ring of elemental mastery. D: 33 was the battle bunny level. Bugs died without any problems. On D: 34, there was a bee hive. It yielded 2 lumps of bee wax and a lump of gelee royal. On D: 35, I reached the Cat Lord level. I talked to the Cat Lord and got the ring of the master cat. There was also a tension room of mimics on D: 35. All 4 or so of my amulets of free action were destroyed by acid breath, so I avoided it.

    On D: 40, I reached the air temple level. Yulgash was a pushover. I cooked the Master Summoner corpse and kept it in my backpack. I reached the Earth Temple on D: 42. While fighting the denizens of the Earth Temple, I gained the thorny hands corruption. I killed the Ancient Stone Beast easily, and cooked the corpse and stashed it in my backpack. The nearest altar is pretty far away, so I converted the Earth Temple's altar. On D: 43, I received signals of a vault and titan. I zapped a wand of monster detection and saw 9 titans! I'll avoid them. The vault looks like red dragons. The boss of the vault was Baralakteriontar, the great red wyrm. I took advantage of my one wand of cold and scores of potions of booze to clear the vault. I noticed that the artifact "Bugbiter" was somewhere in the vault. An ancient red dragon picked it up. Also, one of the dragons dropped a ring of djinni summoning! I also found a cursed hill giant chieftain statue. As expected, kicking it down yielded only rocks.

    On D: 44, there were herbs and a river. While on D: 44, my feet turned into hooves. More kicking damage in exchange for dexterity. On D: 45, there was a green pool, which I'll ignore. On D: 47, I reached the division of the caverns into the Unreal Cave System and the rest of the Caverns of Chaos. While on UL: 1, I gained the stiff muscles corruption. I immediately read a blessed scroll of chaos resistance, thus losing the stiff muscles corruption and hooves corruption. On UL: 3, there were herbs. On UL: 4, I gained the very light corruption (-6 strength, -6 toughness, +4 dexterity, +20 speed).

    I am going to do Sharad-Waador's quest. I used my ring of djinni summoning to gain the Concentration skill. I sorted my inventory and began the quest. On DL: 1, I ate an invisible stalker corpse and gained the ability to intrinsically see invisible. While on DL: 4, I gained the bulging cranium corruption. On DL: 5, I had to fight against Ambaretelydes, the great blue wyrm. I also had to fight against Betwedeneftelgar, the great blue wyrm. Then I fought against Srraxxarrakex, the ancient blue wyrm. I fought each of these enemies one at a time by luring them to the level above. While making my way back to Sharad-Waador, I sprouted horns from my forehead. A harmless, and beneficial corruption. On DL: 3, there was a neutral altar. I plan to go to the Mana Temple next. While in the Blue Dragon Caves, I gained the hooves corruption. I also came across a giant slug corpse and gained acid immunity.

    On UL: 5, I found a hulking armor, but decided not to use it. There was also a forge, east-west river, and a figurine shop on UL: 5! I bought 9 figurines. On UL: 6, there was an emperor lich! It summoned diamond golems. I opted to run away. While fighting Nuurag-Vaarn, I gained the antannae corruption. Even with 2 sources of confusion resistance, I frequently became confused. I also had to frequently zap my wand of light. I used up about 5-7 humanoid slaying arrows/quarrels, which got Nuurag-Vaarn to severely injured. I pounded on him in berserk mode in darkness, which netted me several stat drains (only -3 at the most in perception, and -1 in some useful stats) and killed the evil mage. About 95% of my attacks versus Nuurag-Vaarn were made in the dark. Maybe I would've killed him quicker if I could see better. I cooked the corpse and left the temple, but had to extricate myself from a sea of (greater) chaos servants before doing that. I stopped back in the figurine shop and noticed some powerful monsters, such as a doppleganger lord and ice vortex. I went back to the Blue Dragon Caves real quick to raise some money for them. While doing that, I gained the apish corruption.

    Next, I went to the Elemental Anomaly level, D: 48. There was a bee hive on that level. I got 5 lumps of bee wax and a lump of gelee royal from it. While on that level, I gained the raging corruption (-9 DV, +6 melee damage). My potion of uselessness gift was the ring of immunity. One useless item in exchange for another. While on D: 50, I got the teleportitis corruption. Humph, that won't affect anything. After both chaos mutant rooms were cleared and about half of the writhing mass or primal chaos room was cleared, I gained the unholy aura corruption. After clearing one of the lever rooms (one balor dead) and part of the other lever room, I grew 10 eyes. While fighting a balor, I acquired the thin and nimble corruption (1/2 weight, DV +6). While fighting Fistanarius, I became extremely corrupted, and gained the mana battery corruption. I used my wand of destruction to destroy both levers. I read a scroll of chaos resistance, thus ridding myself of the mana battery and thin and nimble corruptions. I gained the thin and nimble corruption back while fighting Fistanarius. With help from my dark sage companion (figurine), I obliterated Fistinarius. Unfortunately, my loyal companion was unable to cause any damage to Fistanarius, and he died in one hit from him. After that, I activated my mummy campanion, who quickly died to an air grue without even damaging it. Whoa! A halberd I picked up on D: 50 (almost immediately after arriving on D: 50, dropped by a lich, if I recall correctly) was Wyrmlance! I cleared the rest of D: 50 without problems.

    Next, I went to the surface and talked to the assassin prince to get the Filk quest. Then I stoped in Lawenilothehl to get a scroll of magic mapping, spellbook of Bless, and to kill several thugs and a shopkeeper. I went to Terinyo and learned the location of the unicorn glades. I also obtained 2 blessed potions of cure corruption (translucent). I went to the neasrest altar (PC: 4) to get rid of the cursed intrinsic. For the Filk quest, I need to go to I: 42. The first 41 levels of the Infinite Dungeon were pretty uneventful. An ancient white dragon corpse and a room full of various mimics were the most notable things. A few zaps from wands of magic missiles and a wand of fireballs, and Filk was dead. After going back to the Wilderness, I killed the assassin prince and got Sting. I talked to the Mad Minstrel, and now I'm going to go to the Scintillating Cave. On SC: 2, there was a lawful altar. There was also a lawful altar on SC: 3! On SC: 4, there was a bee hive, and on SC: 5, there was a north-south river (separating the staircases) and an ant hive. On SC: 6, there was a bee hive. I lured the emperor moloch to the level above. While doing that, I had to use up a scroll of chaos resistance to get rid of the mana battery corruption. At first, I tried using magic to kill it, but that was ineffective. A wand of paralyzation enabled me to shoot 8 blessed arrows of demon slaying at it and kill it. A necromancer on SC: 8 dropped an anvil! It's a bit too late to start smithing now, though. I went back to Khelavaster and obtained the Trident of the Red Rooster. Out of curiosity, I wrote another crumpled scroll and gave it to Khelavaster. He took it from me and said, "I did what I could." I tried giving a crumpled scroll to the Mad Minstrel, but he refused to take it. I also tried giving it to Kherab, but had the same result. Finally, I cleansed all of my corruption via the white unicorn and left the chain.
