    Default Strong Magic question

Does it increase the damage die by 2, the number of dice by 2, or add 2 damage to the value after the dice are rolled?

I dont think it's worth it if it's just 2 damage added on (except for in the early game)

    Thanks,
    Matt

It's 2 damage added on and yes it's useless. Just as >80 % of all talents.

    ^What he said.

There's only a very small and specific number of talent lines that are considered worth using at all, and almost all of the rest are terrible. If you go and start looking through the .flgs in the "Yet Another Victory Post" section, you'll see a lot of the same ones show up over and over and over again.
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.

Good tips. I'll stick to what the winners use. The Archmage I am building may dissapoint, lol

I'd take it for a pure spellcaster.Since 80% of traits are nearly useless, this one is a bit less useless than others.

I think you can pick more useful talents than Strong Magic before you run out of talents at all.

Alert, Miser, Treasure Hunter, Quick, Very Quick, Greased Lightning, Long Stride, Porter, Master Packager, Beast of Burden, Hardy, Very Hardy, Extremely Hardy, Tough Skin, Iron Skin, Steel Skin, Careful, Very Careful, Defensive Fighter, Shield Specialist, Shield Expert, Shield Master. That's twenty-two already. You get seventeen at least, and any spellcasting class can get twenty-two at most.

If you play a spellcaster with a good Heir gift, that's three more.

Even among the actual magic talents, Potent Aura into Strong Healer is probably more useful. +4 HP on Cure Light Wounds is pretty sweet. Hell, Strong Aura and Mighty Aura probably do more for you than Strong Magic. The fact of the matter seems to me that there really aren't (m)any spellcasting talents that are very good for spellcasters.

That's not counting the basic missile combat stuff: Good Shot, Keen Shot and Quick Shot. Even when I'm playing a spellcaster, slaying ammo is just too tasty to ignore.

How about Charged? Worthwhile for a caster, or not?
You hear the cries of the crowd: "Freebird!! Freebird!! Freebird!!"

iirc, it gives smth like 3 pp over 100 turns. so pretty much not.

On the other hand, imo all PP regen helps, so if you have no better ideas..

The way Charged works, it gives less PP regeneration the more you already have - so for a full spellcaster, the effect is close to none at all. If you're not a full spellcaster, PP regeneration doesn't really matter in the first place.
