What's up with getting sick/weak when you're just moseying about the land? This current character is more likely to die of this than anything else, I think...

Also: is there anyway to cross the seas?

Attribute loss when travelling the world map is caused by your hunger state: starving, very hungry, bloated, and overfed result in stat drains over time. On the topic of sea travel:

The earth, air, and water elemental shards as well as winged boots (unided name: worn boots) allow you to cross normally unswimmable sea.
