I'm assuming you dropped your stuff so you could sacrifice gold at the altar without risking having your equipment turned to dust?

It's risky to attempt to change your alignment by sacrificing at the Dwarftown altar. Mistakes can easily lead to the entire village being pissed at you, with all the negatives that entails.

That's the problem. Luckily I've got most of the important stuff back because it was taken by a guard who I lured to another level and killed it there. Now I'm curious to see if I can kill the priest, too, but I don't want to make the rest of the little guys angry.

Angering him with ventriloquism will not annoy the whole town, but killing him will. So you'll need a pet that is strong enough to take him on. Consider reading a scroll of familiar summoning (hope you have it) somewhere with a high danger level, like the DH.
You steal a scroll labelled HITME. The orc hits you.

Didn't have one but found another solution! The priest was just killed by a friendly greater daemon who was so kind to do the dirty work for me ;-)

No, you were lucky, actually, as if you accidentally convert the altar, which is very easily possible when attempting to change your own alignment, it would have made the Priest and then the entire village angry.

Changing alignment by sacrificing at altars is a bit too risky for my taste, but doing it on the Dwarftown altar is just not a good idea at all.

Yes, you can use it to aggravate Ruun or anyone else without making the entire place hostile. It might take several attempts at a low skill level. I like dubidu'ing most Dwarftown inhabitants, then luring them off the level to pickpocket and kill. It makes moving across town less of a nuisance, too. It is noteworthy that using the skill on Thrundarr is a big chaotic act.

Clearly Ventriloquism is overpowered, and should be balanced.

Saleya just died from corruption of D50 :-( Fatal mistake: Didn't recognize I got the teleport corruption and got teleported right into the central room, so all the balors were activated at once. I had a ring of teleport control, so if I only had payed more attention...Anyway, Saleya even managed to teleport out again, kill all the balors, empty the first lever-room, switch and destroy the lever, but in the second lever room (just four or five foes remaining) her time was over... damn, that was soooooo close! *cry*

What I really liked about this round, I did the Pyramid before entering the CoC. Just summoned some doors around me with only one open space, so I could fight the enemies one on one.

p.s. Actually the most stupid mistake was - as always - laziness. I had two cooked orb guardian corpses in my backpack and it would have been no problem at all to visit a certain druid and reduce the corruption a bit ... or kill a certain horse and reduce it even more... but noooo, lazy idiot gordon doesn't want to win the game a third time. Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuuuuuuck!!!
