    Default Idea: CK speedrun

With a little luck, I think Chaos Knights would make for a great speedrun. Here's my rough outline of how I think it could be done:

-Drake CK (for the tower boost and great To)
-Straight to CoC; knock Thrundarr off thing-ma-bobber; retrieve Moon Sickle (usually before Water Temple, but can be after it, of course) and do Water Temple. Moon Sickle is your source of on-demand healing. probably want to trade in SfB for PoCC--could be a good idea to lure him up to DT/level below DH:2 before wacking to death
    -Pyramid, retrieve TP wand
-at this point, you are probably around level 15-17 and have around 8-10 corruptions [a nice +4-5 St/To/..Dx(?)]
-acquire means of crowning. probably sell-robbing, but you're only going to get 60-70k between barnabas and waldy. DFG is maybe another 5k. Probably going to have to sacrifice ankh or something.
-have extended means of invisibility [ring of invis?]; if not sip in DFG and pray
-next is ToEF. need to have First Aid in 90s, but this should be doable w/o any external healing excepting prayers. may need to sacrifice TP wand to get wand of digging to top level
-smack ACW around like a wet fish, especially if you have that beast armor
    -dive, dive, dive.

It does require a little luck with corruption, but most of them are not game-enders. Even the stop healing corruption isn't bad on a Drake CK w/ Moon Sickle [on-demand healing, 1d(lvl) speed boost after level 12..only downside is -5 St, and +10 Wi is a pretty huge upside]. Hopefully Casino has good weapon since Moon Sickle is quite corrupting [of course, how you get moon sickle off is a good question since you don't have literacy and you can't use holy water....pray for disarmer, I guess]).

I currently have a Drake CK at 10500 turns who went through UD, retrieved moon sickle & did pyramid, so I think it's possible to do this pretty fast for people who know what they are doing

    What do you guys think?

A little off topic but I was wondering how long (on average ) does it take someone to beat ADOM on a speed run?

For a melee character like Chaos Knight, under 30k counts as a decent speedrun, while under 20k turns is really great.

I think CK has fantastic potential for speedruns. Finding a ring of fire resistance early on and converting straight away would help. I still need to find out if Immune to Pain can replace fire resistance here.
If you get crowned with the armor, insane things could happen. Sell-robbing should be sufficient for crowning, with a little creativity. Digging up the sword of nonnak could help there, it's worth lots of money. Unfortunately it requires conversion. The armor is so good that a creative way to get crowned C early on (saccing ants / bees / vault / SMC) is a strategy worth looking into. Becoming a fallen champion might be worth it.
You steal a scroll labelled HITME. The orc hits you.

For a wizard, the record is around 5000 turns. I think I've seen a barbarian with ~18000 and a mindcrafter with ~15000.
Hoping to win with every class, doomed. Archer, Barbarian, Bard, Beastfighter, Druid, Elementalist, Farmer, Fighter, Monk, and ULE Priest down.
