I will also note (as of p7) that it is technically possible to control TP in DFG - I once entered a TP trap and was able to choose; several other times I was not able to. Should be easy to test in p7 w/ the guaranteed TP trap.

FWIW, slapping a non-hostile monster with gauntlets is not a chaotic act. (and is a good way to make them hostile!)
Ha, excellent! I will throw down the gauntlet to Waldenbrook then.
First try: "Waldenbrook does not seem to be impressed. Just annoyed." Shopkeeper remained non-hostile.
Second try: "Waldenbrook is stunned!" (and hostile)
He went down fast.. to a weapon no better than the golden gladius. Duelists are awesome.
Edit: ACW went down to the golden gladius in a straight up fair fight. Drakeling duelist lost no more than 40 HP.
Throwing gauntlets at a monster has the same effect as giving them.
Robbing the casino by giving gauntlets to the shopkeeper and then teleporting away has no negative consequences except a minor alignment hit.

You steal a scroll labelled HITME. The orc hits you.
Is it just me or do atleast magic missile bolts bounce differently? not the trajectory but the animation. tried it on two wizards.
Same goes for lighting bolts with a druid.

Yes, there's a problem with the animation. I already raised a bug for it.
Keep an eye on your potentials when drinking potions of <stat>.
I'm currently playing a HE duelist, and my To was 18/18, then I drank a blessed potion of To it raised to 20/27 instead of 20/22 as expected. If anyone can confirm this behavior, it's probably worth raising a bug.
Ah--I was wearing the Robes of Resistance at the time, so the potential was calculated based on my current To, not the base To.

I can confirm that I think, drinking blessed potential toughness with Preserver equipped set potential way too high, it would be consistent with using current instead of base.
We know so far about Ironfist, Bugbiter and Executor as possible duelist crowning gifts. Now we learn about a certain pair of gloves.
Playing since gamma 10, when necklaces looked like &s. Lithium man. Brass + Lithium. OCG. Illiterate barb. One race and one class to go.
