Default Requirements for Rolf & Scroll of Omnipotence

I just started a new grind to get the Scroll of Omnipotence, and wanted to have some clarity on the milestones and requirements that I need to complete in order to have a chance to do that. So far, I've noted the following, but had some questions:

    Hard Requirements:

    * No Dwarf killing: Does this include ghost and zombie dwarves? What about the dwarf dude at the Graveyard?
    * Alignment: It seems as if this quest line kinda requires Lawful alignment at some points, such as to get Rolf's Axe and Shield and, depending on race, to actually get the quest from Rolf. Am I missing any alignment checks along the way? Is it safe to crown Lawful early (unlike Ultra Endings)?
    * Rolf's Shield: Talk to Thrundarr about Rolf *before* getting the third quest to guarantee Rolf's Shield as a reward.
    * Rolf's Companion: Be Lawful when talking to Dwarven Mystic!

    Routing (not necessarily in order):

    * Dwarftown: Kinda mandatory to start off the quest as a whole.
    * High Mountain Village: To get the location of the Eerie Glade
    * Antediluvian Map quest: Completing all fragments requires the two above things at least.
    * Minotaur Maze: You 100% need to do the Maze before level 30 to get the Weird Fire Starter (Twisting Fire Starter (8) ).
    * Rolf's Quest: Corrupt the Stone Heart before diving to close the chaos gate, as you lose the Fire Orb at that point.
    * Ice Queen: It seems that her quest are not *required*, but you do need to get to her eventually to be able to get to the Ultimate Dungeon. Do you actually have to escort Yggaz to her? Because if you need to protect/clear the way for him, it's probably better to do the clean up beforehand.
    * Close the Chaos Gate: This is also a requirement to access the Ultimate Dungeon. It seems probably like the last thing to do before the Ultimate Dungeon itself.
    * Ultimate Dungeon: This is a one-time dive, so be prepared before going in, never to return.

I think that's about it? I hope I'm not missing anything obvious, but if I am, please point it out .

I got the scroll on a Dwarven Fighter and that makes certain things easier - since you're lawful other lawful units like dwarves, are not hostile being key. I almost certainly did the graveyard so I'm 99% certain that you can kill Griff. You have to dig up his grave so it'd be strange to do that without killing him. (Just checked the Wiki - only living dwarves count - even Chaos knights). Basically dont kill random dwarves or kherab and you should be good

I'm fairly sure you're ok to crown but someone will come in who knows more to confirm.

One thing with your routing: make the volcano before you close the gate. Because you need the fire orb to corrupt the heart.

The stone dragons are also insane for item destruction and diminished sight radius makes it extra challenging - good luck.
Completed: All Races, All Classes. Twice.

Great info, the details help a LOT to route. Just added a note about corrupting the thing before closing down the other thing.

Just started yet another Drakeling Wizard; the last one got paralyzed to death in the Unremarkable Dungeon after insane luck getting through the Small Cave. A couple more died due in the last two days too, due to not remembering the small details that make this game complete bullshit from time to time (invisible, out of range Ogre Magi one-shot, a dark sage in the arena back to back two-shot glowing balls, dark elven priestess paralyze apparently...). The current one is looking much better; Graveyard, Pyramid, Water Cave, Small Cave (Invisibility + Teleport helps) => HMV => Eerie Glade done so far. I also found some seven league boots on the HMV shop

I'm also skipping the Dwarven Halls from now on; I was cocky with invisibility and teleport, and was barely able to escape a greater elemental tension room, and a FAST fire vortex (smth smth see invisible). The Animated Forest is not as bad as I remember it, really.

I was about to write about needing a Lawful altar (Dwarftown generated neutral at this point), but I remembered the Borderland Settlement altar! It's nice to have a guaranteed Lawful altar nowadays. Between the Neutral and Lawful altar, you can more or less manipulate alignment as you wish now, which makes the game way more consistent. I recall grinding a LOT for the only Lawful Ultra I've completed some time back, which is not nice at all.

I found a Calm Monster book in a couple of runs, so I think the hostile dwarves might be OK. It's nice that the chaos and undead ones don't count, since that means much lower chances of screwing it up. I just need to not. be. stupid. Luckily I have practice avoiding cats too. However, I've noticed that Calm Monster does not work at all sometimes? I spent like 300 PP on a single cat, and I was not able to get it to chill out. Is that a thing?

I'm not sure about calm monster myself.

I just wanted to note that killing dwarven chaos knights is alright. I wrote incorrectly last time.

And DH is my preferred path but only if one of the links is short. I'm not trying to explore the whole thing and get slaughtered.

I always do small cave at the beginning so that less of an issue.

I was able to follow the steps on the original post (edited some stuff), and it seems the key thing about alignment is all up to getting Rolf's Axe and Shield (and depending on race, up until talking to Rolf and getting the quest). I was not able to find out if Rolf gives the quest to chaotics (except Chaos Knights which are attacked regardless), nor if the Ygazz/Ice Queen has alignment requirements too. It's not a concern for this PC (Drakling, Lawful), but would be nice to know and add to the Wiki :P.

The last iteration has, so far, been going fairly well; LVL 32, crowned (Ring of Immunity), gone to the bottom of the CoC (still need to do the last 3 Temples), fairly well equipped. Second time ever completing the Minotaur Cave; dreadful place.

Any advice on level/gear requirements for the Stone Cave? I read about the shrapnel breath as I was typing this; does it also destroy equipment in the backpack?
