    Default [Creator's Day RRC, ADOM 1.1.1] Hail Zorp, GnAs

    Cup, Gnome Assassin. Hail Zorp!

    Talents: Alert, Hardy, Tough Skin, Long Stride, Quick

    Nothing too eventful...got caught by a jackal pack on my way to generate SMC at lvl 1, and somehow managed to kill them all. Also managed to run through SMC at lvl 5 and grab blanket and find stairs (nice and close!). Was on my way to find Healer for Healing when 2k turns hit.

    Haha, that's an arguement! Anyway, Hail Zorp is still alive after 6000 turns and she is doing quite well. She found a lawful altar on VD7 and got lawful herself. On the same level she found a tension room full of chaos guys and chaos girls who were all sacrificed. Then she got into an ultra-dangerous situation when she was sandwiched between the mad carpenter and a werewolf, but luckily she was able to get out of this mess, saved the carpenter and got the learning spell. At next she entered the puppy cave where she had some food issues for quite some time. I am glad that she was able to solve them in the end. Hail Zorp avoided the ants on PC2 and trapped a cat on the same level, so be careful around there. She made some levels and learned the Miser talent in order to go for treasure hunter. Also she was able to improve her equipment a little with a nice spear and some more points of PV. In the PC there's also a ridiculous amount of altars (one lawful and two neutral). Hail Zorp managed to descent to the bottom level (stairs in the cavern are quite close together) and on the last turn put up the dead puppy's corpse. I'd recommend to take a look at the lesser vault at next. Maybe there is some nice loot to be found and a lawful altar is very near.

    Claim.

    Interesting run on this one. The vault was mixed with a vortex, so I decided to take a pass. I headed back out of PC. Killed a few ants and got acid resistance (very, very fortunately as it turns out). Visited UD. UD1 had an orc vault that I cleared for a nice pile of loot. UD2 had a horizontal river that I didn't want to cross. Fortunately, between the orc vault and selling a few bits and pieces, I had about 3000 gold, so I decided to head back to PC and try to sac out the mixed vault.

    This turned out to be probably one of the most dangerous mixed vaults I've ever seen in the PC. Among other things, there were two vortices (ice and acid), a werewolf lord, a couple of golem types, and some other assorted nasty things. Fortunately, I was able to sac all of the worst monsters except the vortices. The acid one exploded fairly harmlessly on me. The ice one I planned to kill with thrown daggers, but got trapped by another monster and had to pray to make sure I had enough HP to survive the blast. Most of the vault monsters are now gone, we are very close, and, I suspect, fairly near a precrown. We have no food, unfortunately.

    [edit]The altar is covered by a rock immediately NW of the stairs. We are next to a hell hound.
    [edit2]Caution, there are at least three cats on PC:1. Two of them should be trapped, but a third is free. There is also another trapped cat in the room east of the vault next to the river.

    Precrowned with Ironfist.

    Went to UD, found a whip. Decided to get to L+ and crown early.
    Was leading an ochre jelly from PC:5 to PC:6 without armor and with 20 hp due to whipping and it KO'd me for 22 points of damage against my 31/1 DV/PV. Didn't roll 1hp saving throw despite Fate smiles and Lucky.

    I'm quite ok with being thrown out for such playing, although it was certainly not deliberate.

    I have a memory that you need over 30 HP to make a save vs. death on critical hit. I can't remember where I read that though... maybe something from Soirana.

    I guessed so, but that was just bizarre. I was lazy to equip cloaks and stuff, but could have at least gone for 2 clicks for the 5PV shield.
